iOS 13 camera black iPhone X

Since I updated to IOS 13 on iPhone X me camera will not work. Can’t access Snapchat and phone stays black.

I've turned off voice over, rebooted multiple times. I am NOT going to do a complete system reset as that is utterly ridiculous!

I have the same problem. Since i update to ios 13 or 13.1 or 13.1.1 the issue is still persisting. I recommend everyone to do a downgrade to ios 12.4.1. When you do that, the black camera issue is fix. So the problem is a software problem of ios13. Here you have the link to download ios 12.4.1: https://ipsw.me.

The steps to do the downgrade are the following:

1)Connect the iPhone to the pc.

2)Open iTunes

3)Press left-shift botton and the "Restore iPhone"

4)Select the ios12.4.1 file you have had downloaded

5)Wait until the process finish and ... UALA!!

I hope the future´s ios 13 releases fix the problem.

When you're in the camera app, turn on airplane mode and close the app on the multitask manager. Then, turn off airplane mode and open the camera app.

I know this seems like a dumb fix, it may or may not work for you. However, it did for me.

I don't recommend anyone to update to ios 13.0 or 13.1 right now because it is honestly a joke. I restored my phone 3 times and tried to downgrade my phone until i found this fix.

I am having the same issue and these trouble shooting techniques do not resolve it. Genius Bar told me that it is a hardware problem and I’m expected to pay over $500 to replace it, but there are numerous forums with people experiencing the exact same issue. I believe it could be an hardware issue brought on from the software or faulty hardware. This phone was very expensive and since I purchased it last year, I’ve experienced numerous issues from overheating, to unresponsive touch and now This. it’s disheartening that it didn’t even last one year without needing a replacement

Unfortunately yes and you can´t restore your backup from iTunes because is an older version than ios 13. You have to download all your apps and configurates all again. But your camera will be working again. It worls for mi iphone x. I would recommend you not to upgrade until io13 be more stable(maybe version 13.2.xxx or 13.x).

PD: if you have your data on the cloud(as whatapp, google fotos, fotos, drive, and all things that have cloud storing) you won´t lose anything. The only thing you´ll have to do is config and download again all the apps

Nono. All the data you mention before will be restore without problem. I was saying that the apps won’t be downloaded or if you have done a backup in your pc( as I do in my windows 10 pc), that backup won’t be restored cause it was made in ios13 and you are installing iOS 12.4.1. But if you do the backup in iCloud it shouldn’t be any problem.

Don’t worry with the questions, I want to help people with this problem with the solution I have found :)

Same here, it almost stopped working. Ended up backing up my phone and resetting it. Now the camera lunches but fails to change exposure. So if i open my app in a dark room and look at a brighter scene the exposure will stay high and vis versa. It pretty much useless. iOS 13 took the camera out of my phone.

given the battery thing with apple few years ago, I am skeptical about this being an accidental bug.
