Iphone 11 pro max battery dying fast

Anyone else having a problem with the battery tanking? I’ve covered all the bases. Brightness down, location services only while using apps, no background app refresh, etc. my battery is consistently going down 50% in 5 hours for the past 24 hours that I’ve tested it. Regular use, no difference between sleep & wake, it’s losing the same amount. Ideas??

There is definitely something wrong. My iPhone 11 Pro Max has been off the charger for 6 hours so far today and it still has 81% battery. At this rate, it will last up to 30 hours. Keep in mind that I am home so it has been on WiFi all day, which is much more efficient than cellular.

  • Go to Settings: Battery
  • View your usage for the last 24 hours
  • See if there are particular hours that stand out
  • Look at the apps and activity % to see which apps are sucking down the battery

Let me know what you find.

I have seen a situation like this before and doing a full reset of the phone fixed it. Not sure if we are there yet with your phone so you should check the list above.

Frank

A month or so I bought an iPhone pro max 11 and it was great at the beginning but its battery is lasting less and less more often and I don’t know why is that. I don’t use many apps, I don’t have many pictures I don’t use it as a phone for long periods of time and I just check really fast for messages, emails, WhatsApp, messenger or Facebook because I use other divises for these apps. Can someone help me with some advises?

Hi Guadalupe268

what I did to try to fix a little bit that issue was that I turned off my iPhone Pro Max 11 for one night and next morning I turned on again and it helped a little bit, still the battery is not that long lasting but at least it’s not gone in few hours. I have to charge it once a day or if I don’t use my iPhone that much (I’m not that much online, or texting, or talking, or taking a lot of pictures) it last one and a half day

Also I closed all the screens or apps I have used and that helped too

I notice this battery problem in the past 2/3 days now. My phone is usually fully charged by 6 am and spend most of my mornings using my Duolingo app for about 1 hour learning Spanish and do a little surfing on the web. I put my phone in my pouch on my belt and don't really use it at all for the rest of the day. My ride to work is 12 minutes and use bluebooth to listen to my music on amazon and apple maps. At work I go my break around 7 pm, take out my phone to use it and look at a movie and my phone is down to 10%. The only app that shows a high percentage in use is the Notes app, my background fresh is off and I thought the use of Widget for Notes might be the issue so I deleted that and all the Widgets. But Battery is still tanking. I would like to stop the app library also but can't turn it off. I'm just wondering is if it's necessary to use the app library and the old home screen together

Today I went through my iphone 11 pro max to reduce the usage of my battery. So, I made all kinds of changes like removing all the apps from my home screen (moving them to the app library) so now from the lock screen I tap and scroll up than swipe left to view library. If I don't see the app I want in the groups, I enter the first letter of the app in the search bar and pick from the list. Or I can use Siri to open Safari, Notes or excel... etc. I believed I have stop all background Refreshing and email to fetch, dark mode. One thing I noticed while doing all that is the Easy Access Camera App, from lock screen, tap and swipe left could be my battery drain problem. I'm left handed and when I put the phone in my belt pouch its possible that I activate the camera when i slide the phone with the screen facing inward into my pouch. I've often seen it lite up and hot when I go to retrieve it. At work I use my iphone 8 to scan barcode of the product I need the product info because using the face ID on my new phone is to time consuming (put in the lock code everytime to open phone) With the 8 I just need finger print ID. So, I've only been doing this for the pass week and thats about how long I've been experiencing this issue. I could disable the Easy Access Camera App but, I rather not. So now when I slip my phone in my belt pouch I will still have the screen face in but rotate it 180 so there is no accidental left swipe of the screen.
