I HAVE THE RESOLUTION. after experiencing this issue myself where the apple watch is requesting a password and you enter the password from your apple phone but then never receive the verification code this is what you need to do. Yes, It is because many of us have 2 apple IDs (1 for personal associated for you only "1st ID" and other possibly used for itunes and app store for family "2nd ID"). On a device (you decide) .. sign out of the apple id associated with your personal and sign into the one that the APPLE WATCH is asking for. This is a temporary sign out ... after you get the verification code to the 2nd ID then you can sign back in using the 1st ID. I have multiple devices so I signed out and back in using a secondary phone that I have. But you can do this on an IPAD or Macbook also. I would not do this on your primary phone. Once you sign in with the 2nd iD .... go through the verification steps on the WATCH again. This will now send the verification code to the device you used to sign into with the "2nd ID". Get that verification code, use it to verify the watch. Then go to the app store icon on the WATCH and choose any free app to download and make sure it downloads. Wait 5 minutes to confirm that you are no longer receiving this message on the watch anymore and then go back to that device you selected to now SIGN OUT using the 2nd ID and sign back in with the 1st ID.
These steps should save you 2 hours on the phone with TIER 2 APPLE Support.
TIER 1 apple support will not be able to fix this issue. If you call apple support, you need to specifically request TIER 2 support.
Be blessed and pay it forward!
First of all enter your username and password on Apple Watch. It will ask for verification code which you can get from your iPhone by going to Settings -> click on the top your Apple ID -> password & security -> get verification code -> enter this verification code and you will be all set.
Hope it helps!
What a pain. After 40 minutes with an Apple support person by phone who couldn't help and mysteriously disappeared. I slogged on because I need my watch for everything including unlocking my Mac.
On your Apple Watch, the message pops up on your watch requesting you to enter your PASSWORD (not the 4-6 digit passcode) on Watch Scribble or the 2nd option keyboard (no idea where that is, no pop-up and couldn't find on Watch app on iPhone). I was able to finally get it to accept my password on Scribble. Had to try several times to recognize Cap letter, lowercase and numbers. If you have a complicated password, and it doesn't pass, try again. Works great if you are Scribble-adept. Best of luck. (Apple Watch 5/iPhone XS Max)
I got two Apple Watches back in working order via the watch face with Scribble. As you saw, it is one of the two options that show on the watch face when your required password is prompted. I never found whatever keyboard they're referring to. Please see my earlier entries. Even if I thought I got it right on Scribble, it took several tries before it finally worked and I have over a dozen characters. If your finger isn't registering, try a stylus which is what I used on the 2nd watch, BAM, it worked! Go slow. (Granted, one needs some experience using Scribble.) All this was because I had to change my AppleID password due to a hack. Unfortunately, if the techs can't see your watch face, I'm not sure they'll understand! I don't think it's a glitch, but a step to protect our security made nearly impossible. I understand your frustration. Best of luck!
Another poster, Wendyk12 said to tap the keyboard icon (right side of the Scribble icon) on the watch face when you see the enter password message and the keyboard popped up on her iPad, she said that worked for her. Maybe try that. I'm all good for now so I can't verify. Good luck!
It was driving me crazy.
resolved switching off Bluetooth.
i hope it can work for others as well
I changed my Apple ID password and that fixed the problem for me
I pressed password box on my watch when it came up. A dialog box came up on my phone I pressed it and a keyboard came up on my phone I typed in my password and hasn’t done it since. Hope this helps.
Since I did a forced restart on my iPhone all those messages have stopped on both my ⌚& iPhone 11. A great result for me.
Unpair and re-pair your watch, hope this works
Thanks
I just rebooted my phone (forced restart) & it seems to have stopped it for now.
I had to change my Apple password. Now it's working ok.
Unpair your Apple Watch with your phone and re pair it again. It works for me now.
So this is what I think is happening, at least for me.
1) I had two Apple accounts because I moved to Canada and, at the time, I didn't know how long I'd be here. So I used my original as my US account, and then a secondary account for Canada (since some apps only were available in the Canadian store).
2) Before iOS 13, there was no Watch App store, so any watch apps would automatically get updated when the iPhone updated apps. This wasn't an issue with two ID's as it would prompt you to put in the relevant ID's passwords for the apps on updates, and install them accordingly on your iPhone and Apple Watch.
3) But, I think, now that there is a dedicated App store fo Apple Watch apps, this causes an issue. Since the Apple Watch can only be associated with one Apple ID because of Apple Pay, that the Watch Apps will only update with the ID it's associated with, meaning the secondary will never update since you can't switch over temporarily to update the apps, like you are able to on the iPhone. Yes, your iPhone can also only be associated with one ID, but the Apple Pay settings are separate from the App Store store settings.
***Solution***
I have none at the moment, except for re-downloading all the apps again using the same account, now that I have officially changed the region of my US ID to Canada.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, or some actual support from Apple would be great as well.
Again, this is only a theory, as there really is no way to know for sure why this issue is happening. As I have found no solution, because the above recommendation is unable to be preformed because your Apple Watch App does not let you sign out of your associated Apple Watch ID in the "General" settings.
Press cancel on your watch (it will pop up again immediately, hit cancel again), after a couple seconds the cycle will happen again. This cycle will happen like six times. After that you won’t get it again for a couple hours. My only solution so far until Apple comes out with a fix. If I click Password and then the keyboard button, I get a pop up on both my iPad and iPhone 11 Pro Max that gives me a keyboard. I put in my password for my Apple ID and enter (or return or next) but no 6 digit code ever shows up. I went into settings to the area where you can always get a code, but that doesn’t work.
Hey there. I too love to sew. Now go do the following and get back to sewing:
THIS WORKED FOR ME: After literally a month and a half of stress and never being able to see what time it is, here it is:
Step 1: Put in your password on the watch - if the keyboard does not work, you will have to draw the letters.
Step 2: Go to your iPhone: settings>tap your name on top>password & security> Get Verification code.
Step 3: This six digit code is then entered on the watch after it asks for a code. Success
Onward!
