iPhone 11 on iOS 13 having Bluetooth connectivity issues

New iPhone 11 on iOS 13 is having Bluetooth connectivity issues.

both my daughter and I are having the similar issues.

daughters phone is an 11 64GB Purple.

mine is an 11 128GB White

Hers gets connected to her 2018 Toyota C-HR and constantly drops out. Her iPhone 7 Plus never had any issues.

I have mine connected to a Boss BT module on my motorcycle. Never had any issues with my iPhone X.

neither of our other phones we’re running iOS 13.

I updated to 13.1.2 It looks like "MOST" of my issues have been fixed with this latest update. My 2012 Scion xB stock stereo is now not dropping or getting garbled calls. My iFrogz headphones are now staying connected when paused in Pandora.

The only remaining bug(s) I'm seeing are:

  1. Hey Siri is somewhat spotty. Like the phone isn't hearing me sometimes. Very random.
  2. When placing a call via Hey Siri in my car, the bluetooth connection between my iphone 11 and my scion xB, will connect/disconnect several times before the dialing sound starts. Once the dialing starts, it stays connected.

Well I'm sure Apple is investigating, but we also know the problem is not universal, as I can say it never occurred with any Bluetooth device I have access to with either an XS Max or a 11 Pro Max.

That doesn't mean there isn't a software bug, just that it isn't something that affects every connection; my 2011 Toyota FJ Cruiser and the 2020 Ford rental I had interoperated with iOS 13.1 and Bluetooth perfectly.

That's why the device listings I asked for are handy - more data for Apple to try and figure out who is at fault and who needs to correct the issue.

Mine is having the same problem! I’m also having trouble even connecting to some Bluetooth things. I have two pairs of Bluetooth headphones and it won’t even connect to one of them (as luck would have it, it’s my favorite ones too 😕). The other is terrible and it loses connection all the time. I had no problems with them with my iPhone 8. It also will not connect to my car via Bluetooth at all (2017 audi), though luckily I can overcome that by using the USB.

I'm hoping it is mainly a software issue that can be fixed. It is extremely unrealistic when they tell us to contact our car manufacturer for support because we all know that nothing will happen with that. I had 0 problems with my iPhoneX on iOS 13. It is only with iPhone11 that I am having this issue. And since Bluetooth is pretty much universal and standard I don't see things suddenly being the car manufacturer's fault. Especially since this is across a wide range of models and years.

Yes. Telling us to contact our auto manufacturer is a cop out. This is what BMW responded with.

Thanks for contacting the BMW Genius Team.

Same issue here (iPhone X, Volvo XC60):

Sometimes the calls are shown on the display of the car, sometimes not. When a call is displayed and I accept it, my iPhone X will keep on ringing. If I take the call on the iPhone, I don’t hear the caller in the speakers of my car and the caller will not hear me. After about 30 seconds the call switches from the iPhone to the car.

Absolutely useless.

Before the update to iOS 13 and now 13.1 everything was fine.

For better or worse I just had a 45 minute phone call and spent two hours listening to music via BT in my Toyota and didn't have a single drop of any type, as was the case with previous versions of iOS.

I wonder if it's going to turn out that multiple head ends use a common BT chip that may need a firmware upgrade. We know the issue isn't universal, yet enough people are having issues that there must be some commonality other than it being an iOS 13 or iPhone 11 issue.

The Bluetooth on my 11 Pro Max works on my car for music with no real problem just slightly glitchy. The problem I have is phone calls specifically. The calls drop in and out and for some reason the car controls on my Mazda no longer allow me to manage my calls. I can’t hang up with the steering wheel buttons and the car keypad doesn’t register to the phone. I updated last night and I unpaired my car from my phone but it still didn’t work. HELP!!
