iPhone 11 on iOS 13 having Bluetooth connectivity issues

New iPhone 11 on iOS 13 is having Bluetooth connectivity issues.

both my daughter and I are having the similar issues.

daughters phone is an 11 64GB Purple.

mine is an 11 128GB White

Hers gets connected to her 2018 Toyota C-HR and constantly drops out. Her iPhone 7 Plus never had any issues.

I have mine connected to a Boss BT module on my motorcycle. Never had any issues with my iPhone X.

neither of our other phones we’re running iOS 13.

I updated to 13.1.2 It looks like "MOST" of my issues have been fixed with this latest update. My 2012 Scion xB stock stereo is now not dropping or getting garbled calls. My iFrogz headphones are now staying connected when paused in Pandora.

The only remaining bug(s) I'm seeing are:

  1. Hey Siri is somewhat spotty. Like the phone isn't hearing me sometimes. Very random.
  2. When placing a call via Hey Siri in my car, the bluetooth connection between my iphone 11 and my scion xB, will connect/disconnect several times before the dialing sound starts. Once the dialing starts, it stays connected.

I contacted the uConnect support line last week, and I got a call yesterday from them. When I initially contacted them, they asked for some information on my vehicle and radio (specifically the software version that was on it). It turns out that there was a software update that needed to flashed to my radio. They provided the instructions on how to do that, with links to find the updates. They also gave me a couple of methods to do factory resets on the bluetooth module in the car. They also told me that the most recent iPhones are not listed as "100%" compatible with any uConnect products. The most recent one they say is the iPhone X, and iOS 11.x. I'm not sure what to make of that. But I did the update today, and since then my phone has connected each and every time. I'll keep an eye on it for a week or so, but it was nice to see that they did respond, and seemed concerned about my issues.

I found out from Mopar that I had an update that needed to be done to my radio. I did that, but still had connection problems. They also gave me instructions on how to reset the bluetooth module. Since I've done that, the only connection problems I've had is when I have my Apple watch on. Otherwise it's connecting all the time in my 2015 Dodge Journey.

😳🤔 do other Bluetooth devices come up on the iPhone 11 ? If you have your phone backed up I’d try a complete hard reset and then before you restore it try it and see.. if it connects then don’t unless you really need to restore it .. redownload all apps and then try that maybe something like mine, I believe I have a software issue with mine. I’m going to restore it back to factory and see because apple just sent me a new phone and it worked flawlessly and when I restored it same old problem so it has to be something in the software an app or something I’ve never done anything out of the ordinary to my phone.

Same here...Watch/iPhone don't Bluetooth together with car Bluetooth since IOS 13 came out...Been working with Apple they do know about it now but there is no conclusive fix right now... Here is how I get around it: instead of leaving my watch at home, I turn my watch Bluetooth off before I get in the car and I can connect Car with iPhone 100% of the time. Then I will turn the watch Bluetooth back on when I get home or NOT in my car...

An update on this issue for me. I never got my "11 Pro" to the point where it would reliably pair first time with my 2008 Audi. It would pair quickly, hold the connection for a minute, then drop it and refuse to pair until I manually selected the car in /Settings/Bluetooth a couple of minutes later (why a couple of minutes were needed I don't know). After that the connection stayed up and I never had a problem. So it was frustrating, but I could live with it. I never had an issue with other BT appliances including AirPods, Beats, BT in our 2012 VW, Jabra BT speakers etc...

I have since disposed of the "11 Pro" and bought a "12 Pro". This works first time a charm. No issues at all. Just like my old "X" and the iPhone I had before that.

Net net is that there seems to be a hardware/firmware issue on the 11 which causes issues with older (legacy) BT stacks. The "12" has fixed the problem.
