iPhone 11 Pro Max won’t charge wirelessly

Brand new iPhone Pro Max 512gb, last night didn’t charge wirelessly.

  • No case on phone
  • Belkin charger that works on my XR

See the image attached, support claim it was charging but there wasn’t enough power getting through so the battery didn’t charge. Their solution was to turn off a feature that is in place to extend the life of the battery.

Im thinking I just need to return the device as it is clearly faulty, any one else had these issues?

See images.

There is the feature of the phone charging to 80% and stopping which is supposed to help with battery life. You should be able to go into Settings / Battery / Battery Health and switch off Optimized Battery Charging.

In iOS 13, a new charging algorithm will keep your iPhone at 80% when charging overnight. That algorithm will determine when you typically wake up and start the day, and restart the charging sequence to give you fully charged battery when you wake up.

Same issue here (iPhone PMx on 13.1.2).

Disabled Optimised Charging with no luck.

I have 2 wireless pads and neither work.

It did work prior to software update however not as well as my old XS Max. Using same Bellroy wallet case, XS Max charged with no issue with 2 cards in back of case. New Pro Mx didn’t - had to remove cards and then wallet before it would charge wirelessly. Now not working at all.

That is just a temporary fix. I came to the conclusion that certain 3rd party wireless chargers are causing it to disable wireless and that's why reboots fix it. It seemed to only happen on a certain charger I used at work. I ended up returning my phone and switching back to my Pixel 3.

It seems like a software issue since it works at times. Almost like Apple has a built-in feature to disable Wireless charging when it detects something it doesn't like.

Good luck to you all!

Having mixed ideas.. while my iphone 11 is 13.1.1 no longer accepting wireless charging(using anker powerwave stand and quick charge 3.0). However my bf's iphone 11( 13.1.2) is taking the charges seamlessly. Trying to get enough charge thru plug in and update to 13.1.2.. fingers crossed. ( ugh.. hating these mini updates with a passion)

I've had my iPhone 11 Pro Max for 4 days now, and I just sat my phone down for wireless charging. It worked fine for the first few days without any problem. Now, like many others on this thread, I experienced the same thing. I tried it on several wireless charging pads, and nothing happened. I immediately assumed that it was my Otter Box Defender Pro Series case that was the problem, so I started chatting with Best Buy Customer Service to set up a return. I ended up holding off on the return because I wanted to try charging it without the case. To my surprise, it was not a case issue as it did not charge without a case either. As many others have mentioned, I updated my IOS to 13.1.2 last night, and I'm wondering if this was the problem.

I don't know if others have had any luck, but I simply restarted my iPhone, and wireless charging is working fine now. If it happens again, I'm going to return the phone. I paid $1300 for this device, so this type of thing should NOT be happening. The main reason I upgraded was because my Xs Max had produced distorted notification (text) tones from the day I turned it on. I never thought I'd say this, but if this continues to happen, I'll be giving the Samsung Note a try.

Same issue here and why is Apple not reading all of this and fixing the issue! My brand new iPhone 11 just stopped wireless charging on my Pelslon quickcharge stand. I rebooted, took the case off and still nothing. Apple should be embarrassed of themselves, this has been one of the worst software updates since Steve passed.

My I-Phone 11 Pro Max was doing the same thing previously mentioned in the other confessions.

I received an update out of the blue as I was ranting on about how my $1600 phone doesn't do wireless

charging. I had my whole squad at work searching for answers. Then after the upgrade finished and

I calmed down it worked with the case on. iOS 13.1.2 saved me a trip to the apple store.

I just paid $1400 for an iphone 11 pro and can't use the wireless charging. My phone worked on my wireless charger 2 days ago and i did the update and it no longer works! This is ridiculous that Apple can take all of our money no problem and then put restrictions on our phones. time to return my phone and go a different direction I guess.

I have the same exact issue. Whenever it stops working I reboot my phone and it works for a few days then stops working again. I called support and they did their diagnostics and told me that my phone is fine, it must be my charging pad. I don't buy their explanation because when it doesn't work with my phone it works just fine with my wifes phone.

I just started having the same issue with my phone. I had the 13.1.2 update for about a week now and yesterday it seemed to not work at all. I rebooted my phone after reading the replies and it is now working, but I'm wondering how long that will last for. Hopefully, Apple will take note and get this issue fixed if others are having this issue too.
