iPhone 11 Pro Max - freezing issues

Apple needs to look at this issue. I have apps for hat are not even loading. One example is Google maps. I open the app and it seems not to load until I close it several times. I have closed all my apps and cleared memory with volume up/down/side button/ home button and none of those seem to work.

Same here. My iPhone froze with no apparent reason while I was browsing my Mail app emails feed.... Touch was no longer working... Clock was still running though... After force switch off it would not even switch back on again. I had to revive it by plugin the charger. It's been twice in two days. This time I made a video : https://youtu.be/OjArQQZf6m0

I first reported this problem shortly after receiving the device. I love apple faithfully from the first iPhone until now and I can honestly say that in all the years of iPhones I have never had any problems with any other apple devices until now, and I have had each phone successor new iPhone every release. But, my iPhone 11 pro max has been the worst. I'm on the latest firmware version which was just released 13.1.3 and although better much better but it's still freezing. Opening email makes it seem like its thinking and then unfreezes in about 5 -10 seconds. Sometimes as it freezes the spinning thing comes on faintly in the middle of the screen and then it unfreezes. I love the phone but they have to get it together. Apple put your "genius" people to work. We are not there yet. I can't believe it just did it again while typing this response. I opened an email and trying to scroll through the opened email it froze, the spinner came on and it went to the lock screen.

I’m having this problem with almost every app, native or from other developers. Last few days Google maps has frozen while being used. Is a problem when I’m driving and do not get notified where to turn or exit. I just came from vacation from Las Vegas, I must have missed my turn 3 or 4 times making my driving a nightmare and unsafe for all of us in the car.

It is anything I use. The phone freezes up.

my wife and I bought our phones at the same time. Along with 4 other Iphone 11 Pro’s and just an 11. They do not seem to have the issue.

it appears to me, in our household, out of 6 phones the Max’s have the issue.

my firmware is up to date.

It's likely a combination of configuration and perhaps what apps you have installed.

For example, if an app is misbehaving, it could cause delays by using a lot of CPU.

It also could be that, for example, freezes are seen if you have something like AirPods paired, which I don't.

Those are just two examples I could think of.

My 11 pro freezes all the time in the mail app in multiple mail accounts. I’ve had iMessage freeze and see messages disappear in front of my eyes with the screen go black. Apple Music constantly freezes and crashes and looses any status of what was previously being played. So dissapointed in this new phone which replaced an 8plus which was rock solid.

apple needs to address and fix this. The amount of people reporting freezing issues on the internet is wide spread and global.

as a heavy business user of my phone I cannot afford to have mail freezing on me multiple times a day.

Because knowing whether a problem is universal is a huge debugging technique. It certainly makes a big difference if something happens in all circumstances rather than just some; for example this particular issue is decidedly rare.

Most people with 11 Pro Maxes are not experiencing freezes, which indicates it’s likely a software issue of some type, a big help in tracking it down.

i also don’t understand why you are talking about “standing around” an Apple Store for “three hours;” if you make a Genius Bar appointment you won’t wait more than two or three minutes once it’s your appointment time:

Having the same issue. Screen goes dark and blank for a few sec to mins and then comes back on, cannot do much during this time, cannot cut a call receive a call or even move to a new app, the network freezes , voice freezes sometimes even wifi, when there is a new call coming in the prev call shows up first for half a second. Really annoying

I have had my pro max freeze while closing apps. Last night it was 3 times in 5 minutes. When it does it in an app I wonder if the app has been truly optimized for the new phones, but working in a system app is a sign of something not working right.

I have had my iPhone 11 Pro Max for two days now. It’s fully updated, yet every time I try to open messages it briefly freezes. Also when choosing contacts it will pause for 2-3 minutes before adding the contact to the message, and then while pause another 2-3 minutes when i click in the box to type, and then again when I send a message. Tried restarting, and a reset.

I just purchase the iPhone 11 Pro Max for $1,000+ 2 weeks ago from a Apple store and I’m very disappointed. I’ve been using iPhone since the 7+ and never had any issues until now. The screen seems a lil laggy like when I press or scroll it takes a few times before responding. Some IG videos I look at will just freeze and I’ll here sound. This phone is very buggy/laggy to be so expensive. I want my money back to buy the Note 10+. I do too much on my phone for it to be just a glitchy laggy mess.

I got mine the day it came out and had no issues. About a week ago my pro max was freezing like crazy while browsing safari, or any apps to be honest. I can’t scroll or anything. Thought the new update would fix it but nope. Running into it like crazy now.

I have had my iPhone 11 for a month. The camera is so temperamental it is painful. Quite often the screen is completely unresponsive to touch so I cannot take a photo or use the zoom. Sometimes the screen is frozen on black and only a reboot will sort it out. I’m currently on vacation - at least 10% of the time I cannot take a photo when I want to because of this bug.

I wish I had never upgraded from my trusty iPhone 7.

I have a similar issue with the camera when opening it from the lock screen it will freeze.

So sometimes I will open the camera with the long press icon in the bottom right of the lock screen, take a photo and the camera will freeze and the only option is to get out of the camera, I don’t have to reset the phone or turn it off or anything to get it working, but if I go to pictures the photo that I have just taken is not there.
