iPhone 11 Pro Max - freezing issues

anyone having issues with the new iphone 11 pro max - often click on the camera and it is frozen and just offers a black screen - messages froze this

morning - only way is to turn the phone off and back on again to clear the issue

YES!!! The same thing is happening to me. It feels slow and I upgraded from the 7 plus and I can’t even notice a difference. I was in settings and just trying to change my ringtone and was previewing them and when I closed the settings page my phone just randomly started playing different ringtones while on my home screen! This is extremely frustrating and absolutely ridiculous for this expensive of a phone. Also, when I close apps like Instagram, they will still play the sound from the videos that I was playing before I closed the Instagram app!

Why do people insist on making it known that they have not had the issue being asked about. Thats not relevant to providing support, and no one cares that you have not had the issue (or any issue.) People only care if you have a suggested fixed to the problem. And suggesting things like "visit your local store" doesn't help either; don't point out the obvious..


The last thing most of want to have to do is go to a Apple Store and stand around for 3 hours; thats why we come to the forums looking for HELPFUL and EFFECTIVE feedback/suggestions.

I've had it happen on 2 phones thus far..

A friend of mine has the same issue on the one she got almost a week ago..

Thats a lie; I had an appointment, and I sat there for 53 min after my appointment time before someone came over to assist me.

And then another 2 hours spent "resolving" the issue (that was not resolved, btw)


Please stop pulling things out your a*. If you have something productive to add to the conversation; Like a fix, or perhaps details if the issue is happening to you as well so can get an idea of what people with the issue have in common to possibly find a fix.

While William may not have statistics, anyone who's spent a lot of time in these forums has a pretty good idea when things are affecting large numbers of people based on forum traffic.

I've never had an app freeze on my 11 Pro Max. Ever.


I can't say why you are having difficulty.


The games comment was in response to an earlier poster who said:


My iPhone 11 freezes in the middle of games.


It doesn't seem like a matter of "good" vs. "bad" hardware as I am on my second 11 Pro Max and neither had the issue (the first had a bad silent/ring switch and my phone was swapped out under warranty.)

That's a lie; because there is not way to know how many people that own an iPhone actually visit "Forums." I'm gonna bet not a lot; as I'd assume most would just go to a nearby Apple Store, or call Apple Care, instead of turn to a bunch of people sitting at a computer pretending to be tech support... I just assume, because that's what I did personally; called Apple Support (because I pay for AppleSupport) and visited the store..


I only happened upon this forum; when search for a reliable source if there was a "known" issue with the devices in question that could relate to the problem I'm having, since the "Genius" at the Apple Store couldn't do anything, but replace my old defective phone with a new defective phone..

My iPhone 11 Pro Max is 15 days old , I got from Vodafone uk, it’s been having an intermittent freeze up since day one !


freezes when typing iMessage, on Facebook posts, and using what’s app ! It freezes with and without a tempered screen protector on .


I just phoned Vodafone uk , because I am one day over their 14 day returns, they can’t swap the bloody phone !


They told me to take it to a Vodafone store, to get the phone checked!!!!


A good job I have not sent my old iPhone 8 back ( as I did a trade in upgrade)


Because if they need to keep this iPhone 11 Pro Max , I will need to set up my iPhone 8 for me to use .


i have been with Vodafone uk for 25 years and I have 3 other contract with Vodafone and an Apple Watch 5 generation, so Voda uk get a lot of money out of me ! And still said they can’t do a door step phone swap !! For a new iPhone 11 Pro Max .


I DONT want this lemon 🍋 phone for two years contract if it keeps freezing up on imo, face book etc !


Anyone else got screen freezing : using iMessage, Facebook. What’s app .


I have not used my camera much , but my camera was ok when I took lots of photos at a party last week .


FREEZE UP’s £1249 IPHONE 11 pro max . 64 GB . I am not happy! And I have the latest iOS.


Nuisance I have to go to a voda store ! To get this phone checked 🤬😓

Thanks for your reply . A shame your phone freezes, and yes , I agree with u , something is obviously bad with my new phone , for freezing up in system apps , imessage and even FB and WA , I have the latest updates for FB and WA. apps . I update my apps as soon as the updates come through.


intermittent freezing 🥶 a dam nuisance!

£1249 pounds phone . I will have to take it to Vodafone uk store for checking. A shame I didn’t report my phone 1 day earlier ! Day 14 , not day 15 .. or I would have been allowed a brand new phone ! It used to be 30 days trial ! Not 14 ! 😪

Mine with contacts freezing as well as texts.


after talking to Verizon for hours

they offered me a replacement

for iphone 10 max

the problem continued

and after being very frustrated

I ended up buying a new iphone 11

which is less than 10 days old

the problem

remains to be the same.

the apple support person after he did work on my phone remotely

he offered me two options

the first to go to an apple store

and the second was to get a new one .


I decided to buy a new iphone

but the problem remains to be the same.


never thought before to stop buying iPhones before

but I am to the point of giving all my family iphones up

and switching to another maker.

if apple is upfront with customers about this being a software problem

i would not have gone through **** from july 2019 till mow.


verrrrry frustrated.


Do not want a new phone again

this is my third one with the same problem.



neeeeeever had this problem before.
