iPhone photos app curation

So after updating to iOS 13 on my phone, I noticed that photos has a feature where it curates your photos. On the photos tab, if you scroll all the way down it will give you the status.

so I’ve installed iOS 13 on launch on my xs max. And it’s still stuck on curating. The progress bar is almost complete. And it hasn’t finished.

I got an iPhone 11 pro three days ago and signed on to the same Apple ID and it’s stuck as well. My iPad Pro had oddly completed and on the photos tab it says citations complete.

all three devices signed into the same Apple ID. Has been connected to wifi and power.

Any one having this issue as well ?

Son turning off photos on OS X did the trick for you? Glad to hear :) Let’s see if the process complete on your new phone. :)

Nono I had the photos turned off on OS X long before.

I just deleted the photos on my old phone after signing out of iCloud

yes the new phone is still going so I’ll let you know.

Oh right. I forgot you said you have it synced with Mac. i guess if your on the beta. You will see if it finishes when the official version releases

Same problem. Does anyone know how essential this curation process is? Can we use iPhoto without the curation being finished or just not doing it?

Yeah it’s just the phone organizing the photos. Not much of a big deal I’m terms of effecting any functions.

Be sure to lock it. When I did that it finished right away. You can put up as many photos you have space for. You can buy more gigs for only 99 cents a month.
