iPad Air 2 running very slow with iPadOS 13

I updated my iPad Air 2 to iPadOS 13.1 and it's running very slowly. It's not bricked but is barely useable. Anything I press it takes awhile for anything to happen and it's barely useable. Also here and there it won't connect to WiFi and I then have to select my WiFi and input the password again even though it should know this already.

Are these knows bugs with iPadOS 13.1. Is it possible for me to reinstall iPadOS 13.1 or even downgrade? Should I simply wait for the first update to iPadOS and hope that fixes it?

how do you do an erase and restore procedure. I have the same problem and I can't get the reset procedure to work.

ITunes restore hasn’t worked on four attempts thus far. Now it’s in the middle of a 3.35 Gb download taking 3 hours.

iTunes keeps asking me to allow it to communicate with iPad and to answer on the iPad but the iPad is running so slow that iTunes times out before the Trust Computer dialog box appears.

Thx. I appreciate the suggestions. The nearest Apple store is an hour and a half away so, someday. Maybe I can shortcut the dialogue box when the 3 hour download completes.

I cannot connect to WiFi so erase and restore fails for me. How do you erase and restore if you do not have have wifi?

(1) You can connect to a wi-fi network that doesn't require a password. Maybe you can find one of those.

(2) Follow the procedure in the post above yours. I don't think that requires the erase and restore. You can do the restore from iTunes.
