iPhone 11 screen scratches

my wife and me have put our brand new iphones 11 inside our pocket pants and both screens get scratched the second day of use (mines right in the selfie camera, apple says “without mal function”...). Has someone experimented somethg similar? We are really dissapointed, apple only cares if you have bought “apple care”....we cant use the screen without a protection: worst screen ever....👎

The same happened to my iPhone Pro. I just got it yesterday and kept it in a pocket with nothing else. Less than a day later and there's already a scratch. I didn't have this problem with the iPhone X.

Apple Corporate is not here in an official capacity, fellow Apple users are.

Do what makes you comfortable in the future, but as has been stated several times, "going to another brand" isn't going to accomplish anything:

The Verge: WHY YOUR BRAND-NEW SMARTPHONE WILL SCRATCH JUST AS EASILY AS YOUR OLD ONE

Dec 23, 2019 11:46 AM in response to MatiasMB

I just bought an iPhone 11 for my wife. She is upgrading from an iPhone 6! So I use Apple products and push them to the limit. I literally just pulled this phone out of the box so I don't like hearing these complaints about scratches. But I would offer 2 thoughts. First, my experiences with Apple tech support have been quite positive. You can call Apple directly and just tell them what product you are calling about. If they can't resolve over the phone they will make an Genius Bar appointment. Call: ‭1 (800) MYAPPLE‬

A second thought is this, for a phone that you are spending $800 or so for, I think a screen protector for $40 that has lifetime warranty might be worth it. So I invested in this Belkin screen protector and had it professionally installed at a local Apple Store.

Something you might consider:

Belkin InvisiGlass Ultra Screen Protection for iPhone 11

Hassle-free lifetime warranty

If your screen protector ever gets cracked or damaged, Belkin will happily replace it.

No, I don't work for Apple but I have used Apple products since 1989.

Yes, I hope this helps someone.

I was actually asking kpfoley to post a pic of her/his phone since (s)he stated that her/his phone wasn't damaged, even without a screen protector.

The best way to deal with him is to ignore him. Earlier on, he was actually accusing people of posting pictures of fake iPhones as a way of "explaining" how the screens were being damaged so easily. He keeps posting the same thing over and over again, "Apple isn't here...get a screen protector", as a way of deterring people from sharing their experience.

I do agree that some of the posted photo's are likely NOT the new phones and in some cases fake iPhone's. That's certainly not the majority, but certainly in some of the posts, I think they may be fake.

The Hosts read posts to make sure they conform to the Terms of Use. And in certain forums, posts that are not answered within 12 hours and can be answered with a reference to a support article may be answered by a Community Specialist. However, Apple is not reading here for bug reports or suggestions. And they don't make policy announcements here.

You don't have to believe her. And you likely won't believe me, but when you hit a certain level on this forum, like she and I have, you get to join an inner forum with the Apple Hosts who run this forum. We're very well informed on how this forum works and Idris is right, whether you want to believe it or not. You can waste your time complaining here, with a false believe it's making a difference, or you can provide feedback via the feedback link, call Apple directly or visit your Apple Store Genius Bar, where your voice will actually be heard. It's certainly not being heard by ANY cognizant Apple employees on this forum.

What (s)he stated, directly contradicts Apple's own explicitly stated policy. Saying "trust me" is not providing evidence of the claim that was made.

I'll post Apple's official policy here again for people to read what it CLEARLY states:

You're right - as a new user on Apple Support Communities with 20 points, why would you believe what someone here for over a decade with over 100,000 points gained by answering user questions has to say? 🙄

Apple does not officially read these forums except to monitor for violations of terms of use.

I suspect you won't find this compelling, either:

Hello everyone, I was at the apple store today about this talking to managers etc. I got nothing, no gesture for a long-standing client, nothing!

The only thing we can do AND WHAT EVERYONE HERE SHOULD DO TO HELP THIS BECOME TOP OF MIND FOR APPLE is file an official complaint via this form https://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

As you know apple does not read this discussion thread BUT they do read the complaints submissions from the form. If they receive enough complaints they can make a case out of it and we will have the chance to claim a new screen. For that though we must stick together and make a big deal out of it (in a polite fashion).

I strongly urge everyone in here to fill in the form (not too long cause limited characters), but mainly saying the quality of the iphone 11 screen is not acceptable and that this whole situation is also unacceptable.

There are enough of us here to make a difference so please go and do that now. THANK YOU!

You just linked the same thing I did on the previous page (which means you didn't even read the conversation).

I really don't understand how this thread is still going. I mean is it a really big deal if your screen has a scratch on it? Does it ruin your life? Does it even affect the phone's performance/hardware? How about having some perspective. Not to mention, people complaining about scratches on the latest phone model (both Apple and Android) is nothing new. Google "phone model + scratches" and you will see.

Complaining here is not productive at all. Best place to submit feedback: apple.com/feedback
