Will tell you something, materials in our world are not only 5 or 6 on the scale of hardness, they can be 5.33, 5.42, 5.76, 5.8 and so on. The glass is around 5.5, but it can be also 5.7 or 5.2, etc.

Now tell me what will happen when particle with 5.4 hardness touch and drag on the screen of iphone XS that is 5.7 and then the screen of iphone 11 that is 5.2? Aha, but both will behave the same on your jerryrigs video that uses only materials with hardness 5 and 6 to test the screen. ;)

But let's come here to misinform and copy-paste an article coming from THE VERGE (that is also filled with questionable parts and generalisation) or tell people how they should use a screen protector (that is a good advice, but everyone here knows that already for themself and is not related to the issue).

No doubt - if screen would plastic it won’t crash by pieces. But do you really thinks we are expecting that from top notch phone. Did Apple asked us if we would prefer scratches over crashing? They said it is best glass ever. Is the best glass is plastic now?

Well. Yeah. There is nothing I can respond here. But why every Apple presentation tell us how thinner IPhone became? Maybe worth measure it with screen protector plus case plus cotton gloves? Why it isn’t included into the box?

Also, when I buy new car - should I use it only inside of garage?

Furthermore... why would you have a commercial with a bunch of random stuff flying directly at the phone, just nailing it if you knew you’re phones would scratch easily? The commercial wasn’t of someone dropping it, accept when it drops into a handbag or something. But please do correct me.

BOTTOM LINE:

A peeled banana could scratch this phone.

Screen protector has been now mentioned enough. It is totally irrelevant if we talk about product material defect here. Same as if you were told to wear designated iPhone 11 compatible trousers with velvet lined pockets

In that commercial the things flung at the iPhone were ALL at the back, not the front. I never inferred from that commercial the screen couldn't be scratched and Apple didn't hurl ANYTHING at the screen.

I do not understand you. So you’re saying I should have known to get a screen protector? When the ads say strongest screen?

If I would have known I would have gotten the $40 screen protector.

Simple, I found this thread because of a Forbes posting. I thought I’d share the other side of the story, of which I suspect there are many more of. So yes, mine is scratch free. Glass is glass, as they say.

But why do you think your story is from another side? Why don't imagine that part of iPhones contains defect screen? Looking to arguments from experienced customers it has chance to be correct. Don't you think so? Maybe you just lucky owner of none-defect screen.

Well. I’m often guest (yet) in Apple store. And I can say most of people didn’t even open box in store. Why do you think you have better stats than me?

Also keep in mind online purchase from Apple directly or from Amazon. For sure it is higher than in offsite, right. So?

Most of us are very interested to get an official answer for this question: Does Apple recommend a screen protector to be used to make iPhone Gen 11 pocket resistant? I think it's not too much asked if we could get a comment for that technical question.

People here didn't, they used tons of phones naked and state the iphone 11 screen is scratching a lot easier and brutal. But who are they, right? After all they used naked devices for 10+ years, you who used screen protectors and read few articles on google knowns better.

And again - case with online purchases. Do you think lot of people who buy iPhone online will go to mall or shop to install protector.
