iPhone 11 screen scratches

my wife and me have put our brand new iphones 11 inside our pocket pants and both screens get scratched the second day of use (mines right in the selfie camera, apple says “without mal function”...). Has someone experimented somethg similar? We are really dissapointed, apple only cares if you have bought “apple care”....we cant use the screen without a protection: worst screen ever....👎

The same happened to my iPhone Pro. I just got it yesterday and kept it in a pocket with nothing else. Less than a day later and there's already a scratch. I didn't have this problem with the iPhone X.

Yep, I saw the very same ads you saw. And the day my launch phone arrived, I had Apple install a screen protector on it before I even turned it on.

I paid cash for my 11 Pro Max 256 GB iPhone. I would not even consider taking a chance on something so expensive. And I'm looking at my phone now over 3 months later, without a single scratch on it.

It really doesn’t matter what the adverts stated. Screen phones have been around for 10 years. Several iterations have been very durable to the point people haven’t even had to worry about it and shouldn’t have to. You don’t think or worry about the brakes in your car because they have been perfected over the years like phone batteries and screens.

Apple decided to mess with success and some people can’t accept that Apple made a seriously poor decision in the eyes of many. The fact that the Belkin screen application machine is going non stop in the stores tells you Apple is capitalizing on their screens being horrible. Much like Google reducing their phone storage space to 128g max then canceling the free cloud storage offerings.

Corporations suck and to put anyone of them on a pedestal is pure folly.

Yeah. I can say the same - for me most durable is the phone which looks like new after months of usage. Not after drops. And I think most of people here thought the same. Why should I worry about “most durable phone” - for sure it should be more durable than previous models which I was pretty happy with? Sounds absolutely misleading , don’t you think so? You said you always put protection - so you move using your pattern and previous experience. We did the same. And, oh my friend, we who didn’t use protection glass before, we see there is huge difference with previous models. You just can’t judge as never used the phone in the way we did.

Actually, I skipped putting a screen protector on my iPhone 6, which was a HUGE mistake. It got loads of scratches, some major, some minor. It was then I decided to NEVER own any cell phone without a screen protector. Perhaps some of you who say your iPhone (insert model here) never got a scratch is more luck than anything else.

It would be WONDERFUL is someone invented glass which can't be scratched. No one has yet. Glass is glass and the reality is glass can be scratched. To think otherwise is foolish.

I’d expect new phone to be in better condition than year old. But first scratches I’ve noticed in 2-3. weeks. Lot if micro scratches and 2 which I can feel by fingernail. Other phones doesn’t have that issue with so many micro scratches. As you can see I have enough info two compare (4s and 5 was lost during relocation but at least 4s also was more or less ok)

I have the same problem with the iPhone 11 Pro which after one month since I bought it, one day I pulled it out of my pocket and it had an scratch. I take care pretty well of my phones and never got a single scratch on my 6S for four years or on my 4S for three years.

I'm very very very disappointed with this new model and the "toughest screen ever". And I'm even more disappointed and frustrated by the customer service received when I went to the Apple store to tell them about it and they told me to call Apple Support where they told me to set up a Genius Bar appointment and come back to the Apple Store, where they told me to call again Apple Support and talk to a supervisor who as every person during this process told me the same: they can't do anything about it. On the top of that, they even recommended me to get Apple Care! So you don't even help me with a hardware problem on a more-than-one-thousand-dollars phone but tell me to spend more money on it. That's quite upsetting.

I hope Apple is listening to their customers and provide a prompt solution to this. I've been happily using their products (laptops, tablets, phones...) for many years without any issue and this problem doesn't live up to their standards.

In short, if you are going to be keeping your phone in your pocket, best advice is to get a screen protector. (Really, the same advice as has been true for every iPhone, ever.)

I'm glad you had no issues with a prior iPhone, but it's like stating that you drive down a freeway daily at 100 MPH and never got a ticket before, then asking why you get one yesterday: odds catch up with you.

The recommendation for AppleCare+ would have solved a few things, including the fact that you could have had your screen damage repaired for $29 + one accidental damage incident rather than the $279 it would cost without it.

I have had an Android since they came out. I just purchased my first iPhone (11 pro max), and was very excited.

Since ownership of two weeks and very careful usage, I have several sets of scratches that are pretty apparent. A few you can catch with your fingernail. This is insane, since I’ve never have had an issue before and with such an expensive product. My phone has had it’s own pocket, where I had my Galaxy with keys and such. To fix something that should be a baseline quality for any smartphone is $349.

Hope Apple listens to the 2,000 plus people who’ve bought their flagship product and have had a similar experience. My company buys over $1,000,000 of Apple products each year Not impressed. Hope proven otherwise
