iPhone 11 screen scratches

my wife and me have put our brand new iphones 11 inside our pocket pants and both screens get scratched the second day of use (mines right in the selfie camera, apple says “without mal function”...). Has someone experimented somethg similar? We are really dissapointed, apple only cares if you have bought “apple care”....we cant use the screen without a protection: worst screen ever....👎

The same happened to my iPhone Pro. I just got it yesterday and kept it in a pocket with nothing else. Less than a day later and there's already a scratch. I didn't have this problem with the iPhone X.

I think the real issue hear is how Apple is advertising this thing.......... I was sold by adds and retailers that this thing was the toughest thing they have ever put out. Deep scratches, cracks or whichever it’s really all the same. You are going to have to get a new screen when it happens. This thing scratches ridiculously easily! In fact the last IPhone I had, the Apple guy ran a quarter over it repeatedly (6s) just to show me how tough IT was. I would dare him to do the same on this screen........

I talked to Apple Customer Support (not an Apple store) and requested to talk to a senior advisor. I explained the situation and mentioned: “This is not accidental damage as I never dropped the phone or placed the phone screen-down. Scratches seem to be appearing out of thin air which leads me to believe that this is a defective product.”

The senior advisor was willing to work with me and talked to other departments before explaining that a replacement will be mailed to me and all charges will be waived when I mail back my defective original.

This thread is still going strong I see.

I have had my iPhone 11 Pro Max for almost 2 months now, and the first 14 days I spent trying to scratch it with my pocket, keys, salt sprinkled on the table, my finger nails, etc... because of this thread.

To this day I still do not have a single scratch on it.

I don't know what you people are doing to these phones, but mine is no different than any other phone I have ever owned as far as scratching goes.

Same here bcalvanese. 14 weeks without a screen protector, and not a single scratch.

The screen for iPhone 11 Pro Max is one of the worst i have seen. This comes from a loyal apple customer who has owned iPhone for the last 10 years. My screen started scratching within the first week itself. And the scratches have been persistently increasing and deep since then. Screen protectors don't seem to help much. Belkin screen protector that apple recommends does not help much and cracks easily.

I just paid $29.99 at the apple store to get my screen replaced. The store manager was extremely unhelpful and seemed to imply that I did not take care of the phone. I should not have to see so many scratches on a $1500 phone so early in its life. Very very disappointed and was not expecting this level of service and product quality from Apple.

I just upgraded to 4 new iPhone 11 phones. I have always used screen protectors and planned to get some the next day. The rest of my family never used them on their IPhone 8’s and X, the screens were in great condition. Just overnight with the new phones there was a small hairline scratch on two phones!!! They were not put in pockets just transferred info to the new phone. We don’t put the phones face down so I’m not sure how this would happen. The scratch was only noticeable because we were cleaning it to put the screen protectors on the next day after buying them! I could only imagine how bad it would get with regular use!

My first thought was they must be using cheaper glass in the screens as these phones were cheaper than the 8 and X. Then I found out that people with the more expensive pro version were having the same problems!

What a shame Apple would lower the quality on their product that needs to become more durable!

I don’t care how much apple is avoiding and denying the glass screen is just as good.... if not better than the older versions... They have lost my trust. First with the throttling issues... Now this! Once I get these phones payed off, I am definitely going to find a more trustworthy and reliable brand. The whole point of spending sooo much on apple products was for the quality, reliability, how well their products work together and cyber security. They have now ruined two of the four reasons I keep buying apple products.

It will be like ripping off a very sticky band aide as we all have apple watches, iPads, Mac pros, AirPods. Fool me once... shame on you... Fool me twice... shame on me.

Same issue here. I was on vacation and had my phone in my yoga pant at all times and have no idea there’s scratches. It’s happened 3 different times and it’s frustrating.

I had iPhone 6S Plus and had no problem whatsoever. Had that for like 2 plus years no scratches at all.

just bought this phone before Christmas and it’s already scratched.

i have re-think about iPhones next time. Read the reviews.. I guess before you purchase it.

Actually, the iPhone 11 is more scratch resistant than the iPhone 6S in physical testing.

Not to mention, you can actually bend the iPhone 6S case with your fingers.

im Realllyyy disappointed in the iPhone 11. I just had it for exactly a week and it already has a scratch on the screen. I can assure you, I didn’t do anything wrong or grazy. It showed up out of nowhere. I noticed the scratch after I put my brand new iPhone 11 out of my pocket. I’m so so Angry! Because I know how well cared I was for my new phone. I hope apple will verify this problem and give us a salution.
