audi mmi won't toggle songs and skip songs since latest iPhone update

Yesterday I updated my iPhone 7 to iOS13.1 and now my 2015 Audi A3 mmi is not able to control the apple music. The screen appears as normal and I can see all of the playlists. The bump forward/reverse on the volume knob doesn't do anything and the dial to choose songs will move and highlight a song but it won't select the music. I have tried a hard restart on both the Audi system and my iPhone. The toggle features work on the radio and the CD player. I think it's an apple issue. Any ideas would be appreciated.

deleting Apple Music and reinstalling it doesn’t work. I still have the same issues. I had the car at Audi for service today and the mmi is up to date. I’d appreciate some more suggestions from Apple as this is their product. Apple Music worked perfectly before this last iOS update. I’ve also checked my phone for more updates and done the hard reset on both the car mmi and the iPhone.

Hi, I’m having exactly the same problem with my iPhone X and Audi A4 avant 2015, won’t toggle tracks since the iOS 13. Infuriating! I’ve hard reset my phone, restored it and reloaded Apple Music. Audi have checked it and confirmed it’s working as is should (I’m under warranty) other iPhones appear to work ok. I have noticed that this problem is only happening with Apple playlist. Albums seem to work ok but majority time playlists are what I listen too.

has anyone got any more advice or fixes, driving me mad

I updated my iPhone to iOS 13.1.3 and was hoping that it would fix the issue but it didn't.

However, I noticed that this is only happening if I play music through a playlist.

If I play music by going through either the 'Artists', 'Albums' or 'Songs' tab, car controls work absolutely fine.

I'm not too sure if anyone has noticed this or not but I found it out last night after updating the iOS.

I called up Audi and they just don't know why this is happening.

yes, older iOS versions are not signed any more, you cant downgrade the phone.. Yesterday's iOS Update 13.1.3 "fixes an issue where Bluetooth may disconnect on certain vehicles" and I hoped they addressed the track skipping issue as well, but had no luck. I hope that Apple is aware of this bug and fixes it.. Music control within a Playlist is completely messed up...

Thanks so much for your update. I prefer my playlists as well! Same issue. I’m getting a call back from Apple today. They want data off of my phone. It’s hard to believe they don’t know about this problem. They certainly won’t admit it’s a problem. If everyone hasn’t reported this to Apple support please do. I will post an update.

I already reported the bug to Apple Support and I think Audi is also in the responsibility to report the issue to Apple and cooperate with Apple. Apple sells the premium phone for $$$$, Audi sells the premium car for $$$$ and the special 15cm AMI cable for $$$ and they blame each other if the whole thing doesnt work? Is this the 99% customer satisfaction? Where is Quality Control, Software Testing?
