iOS 13.1 cutting off text of forwarded emails?

Since moving to iOS 13.1, my iPhone 7 has been cutting off emails that are being forwarded when using the Apple Mail icon on the iPhone. If you look at the forwarded email, it only includes the subject line of the earlier/previous email and cuts off the rest of the text of the email. I changed the iPhone setting to use "Complete Threads" and that seemed to resolve it, but then the issue came back, so I had to turn the iPhone completely Off then back on. Turning off and on seemed to resolve it temporarily. Is there a permanent fix to this email problem? Thanks!

Hi,

I have found this also. It's definitely an iOS 13 issue (along with lots of other new Mail app bugs that are annoying - so much so that for my personal iPad and email I have moved to using the Outlook app), and needs fixing. I have to use the Apple Mail app for my work iPad and iPhone, and have discovered a workaround in the meantime....

Click on the email you want to forward.

"Select All" text in the email.

Now click on the (arrow and) "Forward" button.

Now you should find all the email below as normal.

I think I found a workaround until Apple fixes this problem.

If you hit reply or forward and notice it isn't including the text when you forward or reply, cancel that email and do the following.

Open message you want to reply/forward

Select all the text in the original email (tap to highlight part of the text and then tap Select All)

Now hit reply or forward. All the text should be included.

we've been testing internally for a while only occurs with iOS 13. Can confirm this is a 13 bug with the native mail client. We have also tested the early iOS 13 beta (beta 2 onwards) same issue so has been present since beta.

iOS 12 uneffected. Android uneffected, Outlook iOS app uneffected. Purley a iOS native email bug. Have tested both on exchange 2016 **13 and exchange 2019 **2

Although frustrating, there is a workaround for this.

If you are forwarding a thread, select “see more” at the bottom of the most recent message, then hold down and “select all”, which will highlight all text. Once everything has been selected, select “forward” and the whole message will be pasted into the body of the forward email. Add your recipient and type your message then hit send. It’ll ask if you want to include original attachments.

If it is a single email, skip step one.

I hope this helps temporarily.

I checked my mail settings to ensure it was set for "complete" threads, but then after that, I had to turn off my iPhone and turn it back on again. It may be just the cycling of the iPhone off and then on that clears the issue. I noticed the same email cutting issue come up again each time I install a new iOS patch. At the end of the patch installation, it reboots the iPhone, but that's not enough. I saw the emails getting cut again, so I turned off the iPhone and turned it back on, which seemed to clear the problem.....at least temporarily....I haven't seen the issue reappear for a couple days now so I'm thinking turning off and on the iPhone somehow clears whatever glitch there is.

we have the same issue, large coperate enviroment, random forwarded emails cuts off all the below text so nothing is actually forwarded.

have mutiple devices connected, issue not present on ios 12 only since ios 13 upto 13.2 also. Even seeing this on icloud connected accounts so clearly not a pure exchange issue must be the native iOS mail app. We dont get the issue for outlook app users.

Has apple even identified this as a problem? - Sureley someone like Tim cook would be getting the same issue?

You're very welcome. Just posted another, but I should have linked to this I think..? (Sorry, posting newbie!)

The problem also seems to go away once 'organise by thread' is switched on in Settings>Mail. I have just yesterday switched it on (along with "most recent on top" and "complete threads") and now all forwarded emails have full content forwarded as they should.
