Iphone 11 Pro Max and Carplay not working

I have the new iPhone 11 Pro Max and a 2018 Nissan Maxima with carplay. Carplay worked with my previous Iphone X even after the IOS 13 upgrade but with the Iphone 11 Pro Max carplay just keeps saying it won't start and retries again. Any ideas?

Found a solution here. Please buy a USB male to type c female converter. Use that to connect with the type c lightening cable comes with the iPhone 11. It works immediately when I plug in.

It is the software and hardware compatibility issue. This could be a fix before the official solution comes out.

I am also having this same issue. Was on the phone with Apple for 1hr 1/2...wont hear back until Friday once their engineering team looks at what is wrong. My 10 XS Max worked fine with Apple CarPlay and now with the 11 Pro Max I can't even connect to CarPlay with my USB cord. Very frustrating and Apple doesn't seem to know what is going on. One of the senior technicians said they may have to take my phone to look at the issue and issue me a completely new phone.

What a fiasco. A feature that worked seamlessly is now kaput. I have an iPhone 11 with a new Mercedes E300. I should add that Mercedes in their infinite wisdom have never offered the wireless Carplay feature on the CLS, G or E class.

I switched to the 11 from the XS on December 20, 2019. CarPlay refuses to work. I did install the latest update as well. Here's the screen shot of what I see on my car screen. I can never select 'Accept & Start', because it is disabled. (I also tried disconnecting Bluetooth and trying to start CarPlay first using the USB cable, as the poster above suggests )

I have a support case open with Apple, people have been very polite and I've tried a ton of things. Sending them logs, completely resetting the phone, etc. etc.

I can *** confirm that the iOS 13.3.1 does NOT fix the issue. No sound for phone calls or Siri continues to be an intermittent/random problem with my 11pro and 2019 Subaru Crosstrek. I have tried every single “fix” on this forum. Just sent the USB C adapter and cable back because it didn’t help. I can be talking on the phone one min and the next phone call will not have any sound (it connects, but no sound).

i have made 4 reports directly to Apple.

I think this is a safety issue.

I wish for someone to propose a fix that actually has lasted over one month, otherwise I will personally not consider it a fix. Ive gone as long as three weeks with no issues. Then, BAM!

I’m glad you’ve had success! Unfortunately, my issue isn’t with connectivity. I connect quickly and easily every time no matter it the car is cold, warm, already connected to Bluetooth, not connected to Bluetooth, whether it’s 100% charger or at 20% and no matter what cable or connector I’m using. My problem is with randomly not connecting with sound on phone calls, no sound for Siri, therefor no sound for navigation or messaging. It will only work again once my car is turned off for about 5 minutes, then it will work correctly until the next random event. Personally, I think my problem has something to do with Siri. The other problem I have is my lock screen sound randomly gets loud. Like volume ten, even tho my sound is tuned low. It goes back to normal when I ask Siri a question. So given this along with all Siri function stops randomly in my car, I can’t help but think there is some connection.

I've had this exact same issue with my 11 pro and my 2018 Maxima. Apple gave me a brand new phone and I'm still having this issue about 70% of the time. Nissan says its Apple and Apple says it might be my car. But my girlfriends Iphone X has 0 problems connecting every single time. I am beyond frustrated with this. I've resorted to using a phone holder just to use my GPS in my brand new car. I've tried every possible solution and none of them work. I appears that the only option is to get a different phone :-(

Well my friend, I used an iPhone 7 IOS 12 on my Maxima with no issues, then switched to an Android OnePlus 6T because I refused to pay for an IPhone pro and the Android Auto experience was so much worse that I had the brilliant idea to change it for an IPhone Pro to avoid the Android auto continuous random disconnections and now a year later also using a phone holder in front of the useless beautiful dashboard screen 🤷🏻‍♂️
