I wouldn't assume that Apple doesn't care about this issue or that it won't be fixed. I'm confident, in fact, that Apple's working on a CarPlay fix right now, and quite a few people on this forum have found that the beta of iOS 13.2 fixes everything. However, it sounds like your truck may have problems that go beyond the ordinary —and if the lack of CarPlay is truly as disastrous as you describe, and your XS Max was running perfectly, In can understand your wish to go back to the earlier phone. If I were you, though, I'd at least back up my phone to iTunes (as described in the Beta section of the Apple Website) and try the beta of iOS 13.2 before tossing in the towel. That will cost you nothing but an hour our two of your time. Also, the fix that worked for me wasn't any old genuine Apple Cable, but an Apple Lightning-to-type-C cable (the kind that came with your iPhone 11 Pro Mac charger) with a Type-C-to-type-A adaptor so that it can be plugged into your CarPlay receptacle — but perhaps you've tried this, and it doesn't;t for for everyone, bit nothing seems to work for everyone. In any case, I truly sympathize with your frustration and I shared it in spades before landing on something that worked. Good luck, friend, and if you ever do find something that works, please report back for the benefit of the rest of us.
