No WiFi icon at the top of the device after upgrade to iOS 13/13.1

The WiFi icon no longer appears on my iPhone 8+ or my iPad since the upgrade to iOS 13/13.1 on both my iPhone and my iPad. iPad 13.1 is what I upgraded to on my iPad. I have powered off and back on and still no icon for WiFi. The devices do seem to work and show connected to WiFi in settings.

Try a reboot:

iPad models with Face ID: Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then press and hold the Power button until the device restarts.
iPhone 8 or later: Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then press and hold the Side button until you see the Apple logo.
iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, and iPod touch (7th generation): Press and hold both the Top (or Side) button and the Volume Down buttons until you see the Apple logo.
iPad with Home button, iPhone 6s or earlier, and iPod touch (6th generation) or earlier: Press and hold both the Home and the Top (or Side) buttons until you see the Apple logo.

WiFi appears in the control center. WiFi also works and shows connected in settings.

Not having either one of those devices, I'm guessing the latest iOS changed the location of the wi-fi icon like all the other newer devices and that wi-fi icon appears in Control Center.

No, it should still be present on the home screen. iOS 13 didn't change this and the new iPhone 11 and 11 Pro still have the Wifi symbol on the home screen.

I have and 8+ that is now running iOS 13.1 It was first upgrade to iOS 13

I also have a iPad Air 2 that is now running iPad OS 13.1

Neither devise now shows the WiFi symbol at the top of the devise.

Are you actively connected to a WiFi network. If I turn WiFi off or disconnect from my network the WiFi umbrella disappears from the home screen.

I'm connected to WiFi. Shows connected in settings. shows active in Control Center. Loads web pages etc. But no symbol/

icon at the top of page.

It didn't happen with my XS Max, I need to check with the woman who has my old 7 Plus to see if she has the issue. Is this occurring at all WiFi hotspots?

It's nothing to do with the router - the WiFi works, it's just that the WiFi symbol doesn't appear on top of the screen.

This problem has now been resolved for me after the latest 3.4 update to the 1.1.1.1 vpn app. I don't know whether this might apply to you also?
