While my phone is connected via Bluetooth to my car, the text messages I receive are automatically marked read. I have searched through settings and do not see anything that says to mark messages as read. It is causing me to miss messages because when I am ready to read messages there aren’t any “unread” so unless I remember that one came through while I was driving I do not check for it.

What about for cars that don’t have CarPlay? This is so frustrating that this is continuing to be a problem.
Same issue. 2016 Nissan Rogue. Very annoying. Missing important texts! Was working perfectly until iOS 13. Apple must fix this.

Nothing has worked and no more responses from Apple. Due for a new phone next month. May jump ship and go to Android after being an Apple user for a decade at least.
