I do not recommend anyone get this card! After being on the phone with reps for over half an hr and being transferred to multiple departments I received an answer that it takes 7-10 days to reflect a payment into your account. The payment was immediately deducted from my account but would take 7-10 days to reflect on my Apple Card balance. Worse credit card and card service I have ever experienced. The only way for a payment to immediately reflect on your available balance is to put money on your Apple Cash then pay off your Apple Card with the funds from your Apple Cash. The most ridiculous thing I have ever experienced with a credit card; I already closed the account after a month, not dealing with that!

You can call and chat and it doesn’t change things. Mine cleared my bank and ten days later still waiting for avail credit to show. Unbelievable. And highly disappointing. They are sitting on the money as it gains interest to their advantage. Old practice and unfortunately a loophole to their advantage, they can get by with in accounting practices- unethical in most financial businesses.

Talked with a rep and the best way to get your available balance to instantly allow you more funds is to transfer the funds into apple cash and make a payment with the apple cash instead.

The card balance will instantly reflect the amount paid and the bank automatically withdraws the funds.

Agreed that the extra step is stupid, ** a good way to keep getting the cashback

I am one of the individuals who is seeing excessive delays in payments being applied to their Apple Card available balance. I find this to be incredibly disrespectful to Apple’s and Goldman Sach’s customers.

I checked today and a payment I made 14 days ago hasn’t been applied to my available balance. That is simply unacceptable.

I can imagine a scenario where someone needs their available balance for an emergency and it isn’t available due to the delays in crediting their account. And, the money behind the payment is no longer available either.

We should be able to pay from our bank and have balances adjusted in a timely manner without routing the payment through Apple Cash.

Based on the time it's taking for payments to clear I likely can’t close the account for another 14 days as I wait for the balance to reach zero.

Anyone who puts up with this is being taken advantage of by big business. No one should have their hard earned money tied up for 10-14 days while a payment is applied. Apple Card is not a necessity. Get a card from a bank that credits your card in a timely manner.

I have read here that most of you have experienced the huge delay. I only read one or two posts that suggest after the first big initial delay, payments became instant for them. One did mention they made smaller payments as well. Could anyone confirm one of these as additional workarounds or solves?

And yes, using Apple Cash and planning ahead of time seems to be the only confirmed work around for instant payments currently. For me, I have to do it over 2-3 days due to a restriction on amounts I can put out to Apple Cash daily from my bank.

Got the card in November of 2019. Made at least 15 payments that were instant. Meaning as soon as I closed out of the wheel to make a payment my available credit had changed. Fast forward to February, I made a payment on the 13th and then the 14th. Both payments have yet to be posted to my available credit. I have done two online chat with Goldman Sachs. Both times I get these scripted answers: payments posted depends on your bank, payment amount, and account history. However they can not tell me why all of a sudden this has changed for my account. Using the same bank accounts I have had since opening the card. No return payments or any other problems. I have been told it will be the 19th and 20th till my payments will post. The money was taken out of my bank account the day after my payment. So I am frustrated that no one can give me a good answer. So I called the Goldman Sachs number listed in the wallet/card. First person I talked to gave me the same scripted answer. She also said that they can’t see why my account has changed. So I asked to speak to a manager who maybe could tell me why. Talked to a manager who also gave me a scripted answer. She did agree with 100% with every concern I had. She could not see why my account had changed and she agreed that I had done nothing wrong. So I very much voiced my frustration with this card. If you google about Apple Card they want to be this number one card for transactions. Well you have to take care of your customers if you want to be that. In this day and age waiting days on your payments to post is unacceptable. My Discover card is next business day. I got this card for the cash back feature and the ease of using it with my iPhone. Maybe I need to rethink my choice....

I was also told to do the Apple Cash payment method if you want instant available credit. So I tried one more time to see if maybe the amount I paid made a difference. I made a $10.00 payment and it did not reflect on my available credit. Then I added $10.00 to my Apple Cash from my same bank. Then I made a $10.00 payment using the Apple Cash and it was instant. It also showed on my bank account as a immediate debit card transaction. So I guess jumping through the Apple Cash hoops is the way to do it.

I’m about to pay off my Apple Card and go back to using CitiBank. Goldman Sachs clearly needs to figure out a better way to post transactions. I’ve paid my balance in full last Friday and it’s Wednesday and the money has been deducted from my checking account but I still don’t have an available balance. I never carry a balance month to month and I’ve never had payment issues before. I never have this problem with Citi bank or Capital One. The Apple/Goldman Partnership is trash!

That is not what happened with my account. All my partial payments until my last two credited instantly. My last two smaller payments of 300.00 and 400.00 are taking days to go through. The one I made on the 13th finally credited today on the 19th. My other is suppose to credit tomorrow. Maybe they gain interest or something by holding onto money for days before releasing it?
