iOS13 screen recording no audio in Final Cut Pro X

So something weird happened after I updated my iPhone Xs Max to iOS 13 (now it's iOS 13.1). I make gaming videos and record footage of my phone screen. Lately I've been playing Brawl Stars.

But anyway.

My problem is (this started after I updated my iPhone to iOS 13) my screen recordings don't have any audio when I import them to Final Cut Pro X (10.4.6). This is very weird because the audio is there when I watch the screen record on my iPhone or on Mac with QuickTime. But when the video goes to FCPX adios's disappears.

Any ideas what might cause this? Now I have to do one extra step and use HandBrake which somehow makes the audio work in FCPX too. It's kind of frustrating...

I’ve been having this problem for a while and this was the solution:

Connect your iPhone to your Mac via your iPhone’s charger (or a port that allows the two to connect). Import media from your phone to FCPX by following these steps:

  1. In FCPX, Go to File-Import-Import Media
  2. Top left hand corner, select your phone and at the bottom select the screen recording(s) you wanna use in your project
  3. Bottom right hand corner, click “import media selected”
  4. You’ll find the desired screen recordings, with audio, in window where all your other imported media resides.

Hope this works for you!

That’s weird. Hmm. But like you can see there’s others that have this problem.

I can’ figure out what could cause this. It all started after iOS 13. I have legal copy of Final Cut Pro X and I don’t think you can adjuts iOS’s screen recording settings...

How did you transfer the file to your Mac? I use AirDrop and then drag the file to FCPX. Which iPhone you got?
