iOS13 screen recording no audio in Final Cut Pro X

I’ve been having this problem for a while and this was the solution:

Connect your iPhone to your Mac via your iPhone’s charger (or a port that allows the two to connect). Import media from your phone to FCPX by following these steps:

1. In FCPX, Go to File-Import-Import Media
2. Top left hand corner, select your phone and at the bottom select the screen recording(s) you wanna use in your project
3. Bottom right hand corner, click “import media selected”
4. You’ll find the desired screen recordings, with audio, in window where all your other imported media resides.

so I was having this same issue but I figured it out. may be a supper annoying approach but it does work. I found to import the file to iMovie on your phone, then just export it and airdrop... I don't know why but it worked.

If you want to use AirDrop -- duplicate your video clips using QuickTime on your Mac. The copy should work fine in Final Cut Pro X. I know, it's a headache. 🤷‍♂️

Disregard my first suggestion, this is a better workaround. Change the extension of your video clip to MOV.

FWIW, I just tried a screen recording on my iPhone, with iOS 13, and imported to FCP X 10.4.7. Audio came out just fine.

There may be something specific to your setup that may be causing this.

I recorded on my iPhone 7, and imported directly into FCP X with the iPhone connected with a cable.

I unfortunately started having the same problem as you around the same time.

I can clearly hear the sound in the videos when opening them in Quicktime on my Mac but as soon as they are imported into FCPX, the sound is gone. It's so frustrating having to take the extra step and use Handbrake just for some sound.

I really hope someone finds a fix for this soon!
