Iphone 11 Pro Extreme lens flare

I agree with you, look at my post, I have a similar experience and Apple has totally dropped the ball. There is no more support, there are going to offer additional support, they said this is not a defect and this is not a hardware issue. They said these are normal. I strongly disagree, that’s a perfect example of how bad these lenses are. I didn’t experience this with my iPhone X but my 11 Pro Max is the worst Apple product that I’ve ever owned. I didn’t experience this with my iPhone 10 but my 11 promax is the worst Apple product that I’ve ever owned. I cannot return or exchange it

Thanks for sharing, I just watch the video. I noted there is no sun in the background, there’s no light source to cause a flare, so anything that might have been with a light source behind it has been removed from the video.

I only get those long streaks if i am trying to shoot through a car window. This night driving scene has headlights head on but no streaks. Just green dots on the hood of my car and right in road right in front of it.

Here’s a sample video, how do you avoid these? I’ve captured a protester and I was fine the protester through a group of people and no matter what you do, the phone will cast a humongous reflection on anything with a light source that you point it at. You can't avoid it.

I made a collage of sample images from my phone, all of them are horrible, what do you think about these? This is absolutely not normal, my iPhone X max did not do this, my iPhone 11 Pro Max can’t take any pictures with light in the background.

The lenses were clean, the second picture was after I had the lens replaced. I check my cameras every time before I use them. Maybe there's something wrong with the CMOS, I don't now, this is just normal for the song. Day is fine but it's hyper sensitive to light. I've talk to Apple support, they said this is the way it is, there's nothing wrong totally deny in the situation. I've asked for a refund, I've asked for a replacement with a new phone but they denied me of that so I have to live with this. I think you're lucky to have and IPhone that works perfectly. Even the support at Best Buy and the store said these are in unacceptable.

I think it's funny that we're all trying to find out what's wrong with our phones. I was thinking it was The lack of anti reflective material in the lens. I've heard that it's a reflection of the sensor, but I think it's not up to us. It's up to Apple is the brand to fix it and correct it. We need posted samples by Apple (a benchmark standard) to compare against. I don’t know what their normal is. I would like to see it defined.

I don’t think that green double image is ever going to go away as long as there is a protective glass over the lens generating reflections. But those are not the only aberrations I want explained.

Simply put, I would like Apple to clearly define what is and what is not normal.

That’s what I got prior to lens replacement, and prior to realizing how much dust the lens attracts. I can only guess on these first batch of iPhone lenses there is dust underneath the glass covering the lens.

I have iphone11 pro and I just updated it to latest 13.3 iOS version. I think the problem is not software related but with the glass of the lenses which creates the two or three flare dots on photos which is completely unacceptable after spending so much on this “Pro” device.

This one's easy to deal with, if you just take and point the reflection into the light source you can avoid that. Otherwise that's pretty good. I tried today and I have the same but this is what I got

Is your phones still water resistant after the repair? Because Apple called me and said that they are replacing the camera instead of giving me a replacement phone(which im ok with cuz replacement phones aren't usually new but refurbished and it looks like every iPhone 11 has the same issue, even newer ones). I forgot to ask them...

This is not going to be taken seriously until it reaches critical mass and most people either don’t notice the problem or think is normal and/or expected. I pretty sure there are thousands of phones doing the same thing.

I agree, I'm really surprised at the lack of quality of the output of the photos. How does apple achieve all these great photos in their advertising and we're getting complete garbage? My last iPhone, which was the 10 max, was much better in photography, I didn't have all these issues.

Don't go by photos uploaded here; this site doesn't handle full resolution uploads of the photos the 11 Pro Max is capable of.
