Creating Black or White Backgrounds in Portraits on iPhone 11 Pro

I took a portrait and was able to change the background to solid black or solid white. Then I took another portrait and no longer find that editing feature! I rebooted but that didn't help. What happened to that feature and why do I now have every other editing feature except the background?

Thanks but I figured out what the problem was: somehow, the first portrait I took wasn't in portrait mode while the next two in the series were. Not sure how that happened since I selected portrait mode before taking the 3 pics. Only the last two were editable as portraits since they were shot in portrait mode while the first wasn't editable as a portrait since it somehow was not shot in portrait mode.
