Ok, this sounds consistent. Everything web-connected seems to use the Safari engine at least in some tiny way, so this issue really messes up the iPad.
Anyway so I tried:
- Press and hold down the sleep/wake button while pressing and holding down the Home button at the same time.
- Ignore the Slide to Power Off slider when it appears
- Continue to hold down both buttons until the iPad restarts and the Apple logo is visible in the middle of the
screen.
At this point I let go, which in my understanding, equals a reset.
I have ALSO tried going into factory reset mode, connecting via iTunes and factory resetting from there. No difference, same problem.
Really appreciate your thoughts / anyone who reads this. Best of luck to anyone trying to fix it.
