No LTE options in settings, I only have 4G

Hello! I just switched from a Samsung galaxy S9+ to the iPhone 11 and I don’t have LTE anymore. The symbol on the top only says 4G and there is no option in settings about LTE apart from VoLTE. On the S9+ I always had LTE so the carrier does offer it, I just can’t seem to be able to enable it. I’m on Vodafone Romania. I have talked to them and they offer no fix for the problem. The internet speeds are abysmal, please help me out.

Have you updated the software to version 13.1.1? I think there was a data connection bug in previous versions of the OS where sometimes you might not have a data connection despite the phone showing good signal strength.


is your friend using an iPhone on the same carrier as you? My carrier shows LTE but it also shows that in the data settings where your pic showed 4g.


have you tried rebooting your phone? I would go to settings and reset the network settings to see if that clears it up

Yes, I have updated and that did not change anything. My friend is using an iPhone XR on the same carrier, VodafoneRO. I did reboot and I just tried resetting network settings but again that didn’t help.


edit: I wanted to point out again that my settings said 4GVoLTE whereas in yours it says LTE with VoLTE on. That’s very weird since as the first person noted you couldn’t have VoLTE if you weren’t on LTE. Yet somehow that’s all I got.

Model number listed is MWLT2GH/A


That doesn’t seem to start with an A...


Also, gdigenis, I have not tried switching the SIMs but since on the S9+ it works fine I don’t think there is a problem with the physical SIM.


edit: I think you wanted to see if it was A2221, A2111 or A2223 but I can’t really find that info in the About section. That’s all it says
