Poor iPhone 11 camera quality or photos app bug?

What I did and was helpful and fixed the photo issue was putting the camera setting on “Most Compatible” format

Go to-> Settings-> Camera-> Format-> Most compatible

But for recording great quality videos, you should again put it on “High efficiency”

But, This problem is so wierd!!! i hope it’s only a software issue that can be solved with a newer ios!

I changed the view mode from Zoomed In to Standard and apparently the problem is solved. I had the same issue on my iPhone 11, now it's gone!

I change format under the camera settings to most compatible instead of HEC. I think it worked but I haven’t been paying much attention. I saw a post somewhere that someone noticed having HEC on caused it but I haven’t been able to test enough pics.

I think that's the default option that is made not to load CPU loading every photo in max quality. The photos itself is made in best quality possible and this doesn't affect it. It's not bug.

I just tried this as well. and I did notice that after zooming in and then zooming out the picture was clearer. I took a screenshot of the before and after as well just to confirm and it was definitely a clearer image after you zoom in and then zoom back out. I wonder if that's just a software issue on the phone itself. I wouldn't think it would affect a photo that was exported to computer or posted online, but I haven't had a chance to test that yet.

Just double tap the photo to zoom in and then zoom back out, you will notice the photo is so much clearer.

Me too! Was just looking to see if anyone else has this issue as well, im hoping it’s just a software thing because that never happened to me with my previous iPhone7, and I just spent so much on this phone:(

the same thing has been happening to me on my new iPhone 11. I have never been more disappointed in a product and when I brought it to the Apple Store they did not do much to help. Did you ever get your issue resolved?

The same! I noticed that also photos becoming crispy in edit mode. Then you go back to photos and it’s blurry again. I took some photos and then updated to ios14 and noticed that before that update photos were okay. Maybe this is because of ios14.

I have this issue too. I’m really annoyed and worried because i’ve spent so much on this phone for the camera and it’s awful!

Same here I had the iPhone XS Max Before and took wonderful photos now I just got the iPhone 11 and it sucks I regret switching!!!

I’m hair colorist and I buy this phone only to take a better photo for my work . I’m so disappointed. I couldn’t take a one single good photo with this phone it all turn yellow . I searched all the internet ,advices , zoom in zoom out , nothing works its not like my iPhone 7 ! It was wasting my money and there is no star here to rate the phone . So disappointed

I’m so disappointed too! I had the iPhone 8 Plus and video quality took such a huge dip! Had my new iPhone 11 camera replaced within a month and issue remained. Went again today, and they just confirmed iphone 11 quality is bad on all phones! Basically told me it is the “budget friendly” phone so quality won’t be great! 😳

I’m also finding quality issues and noise. I paid $1,000 for an iPhone Pro and miss the iPhone 7 I traded it for. Never, ever again. If you’re looking for a phone to take pictures, buy something else!
