Poor iPhone 11 camera quality or photos app bug?

So I'm on my second iPhone 11. The first took some very dull photos that looked as though they were airbrushed. I swapped it out and long behold, this guy is no different. Here's what I noticed though. If I open a new photo I take, it's very dull and blurry. If I zoom in and back out on that very same photo, it clears up and looks fantastic. All new photos I take do this. I'll post some examples of my yard I took. I've seen various threads from people talking about awful quality from their cameras and am beginning to wonder if its solely software related. I also have an XR with the same O.S build installed and it does the EXACT same thing. Blurry initial photos, but clear up when zoomed in and out.

I’m having the same problem as well, it’s funny how Apple always brags about how you can take close-up pictures with their cameras on their phone, with all the fine detail, but the second you get within 12 inches of an object, it gets blurry and it will never focus and become clear. I don’t know what is going on with Apple lately, but unfortunately, the products are becoming nothing but junk and as a lifelong Apple user, I’m going to start looking at other products, Steve job would be rolling over in his grave if he saw what is going on now with what he created. It is so sad. This is ridiculous.

Mine photo quality is also horrible. I originally bought the 11 max pro, and returned it within the week. My sunrise photos had a green tinge. Then I got the basic 11. Omg ... this photo quality is awful too. I too sunrise photos for the past 6 years almost every day with my previous iPhones. Now,I don’t even take sunrise photos anymore. So depressing. Who can I talk to you about fixing this or getting my money back? Oh, and causing my depression!

I am so sorry for you! I especially buy the iPhones for their cameras, and before I choose a new model I research which has the best camera upgrade. So for the iPhone 11 I read that the extra lens on the 11pro max would be the best camera for the 11 rollout. My iPhone 8 took superb photos (see attached); I would have been ****** if I bought the 11 and not the 11 Pro and the photo quality was worse!

it is visible that apple is having lack of quality. each years passing it gets worse, and this is a strategy that all the big companies are following: decrease the quality of the product and increase the price. my girlfriend bought her iphone 11 and i was disappointed by her. the images with the iphone 11 are shame. has a beautifying effect that removes all texture and fine details from the image. the ultra wide camera is much worse. the videos, the same thing. my iphone 7 is better. that's why apple has been losing customers to android and xiomi.

I don’t know what is going on with the newer phones but it’s really sad when the iPhone 6 and 7 made better photos. I will not buy another Apple phone. I hate my 11. I hated the one before the 11... gave it another try. Not only does the camera suck but if I get a call and have to put it to my ear well I can barely hear anything. My husbands 6 is great!!!

fix the camera. If it won’t make a good selfie then it’s not a good Phone and I’m switching!

iPhone makes the best camera phone out there, bar none. You have to decide whether or not to buy the top of the line with all the lenses or not. Your choice. The dog photo was taken with the iPhone 8. It was the best phone camera at the time. However, your girlfriend needed to purchase the 11pro max with the three lenses in order for the iPhone to take the best shots ever. The top photo was taken this summer with an 11 pro max.
