Watch series 4 slow to wake since os6 update

Prior to the watchOS 6 update, my Watch Series 4 screen woke up immediately up with one gentle tap. Now, since the update, I have to tap the screen very firmly several times to get the screen to light up, especially if I haven’t tried to wake it for more than a few minutes. Wondering if anyone else has had this problem? I’ve tried resetting the watch, no improvement. I don’t have it loaded down with a lot of add-on apps, either, so I don’t think it’s a memory problem.

For me, right now worked to TURN OFF ANIMATIONS in WatchOS 6 (on your iPhone go to Watch application, scroll down to Accessibility and in REDUCE MOTION feature allow first option), I am second day with this option and lagging is not present even with newest watchfaces.

No doubt....just sharing my experience with... truth, watchOS 6.0.1 still it’s buggy affecting all AWs...and give a very annoying experience....

I started noticing this same issue on my series 3 couple of months ago. Apple better fix this soon. My watch is just becoming a year old.

The fault is not related to watch settings - it happens randomly, which indicates a Watch OS bug as far as I’m concerned.

For the most part, on my Series 4 watch watch OS fixed the wake issue, but it still hangs just a fraction of a second sometimes when I tap. No swipe problems here, though.

Just wanting to add my issues to the list. Same exact problem - tap watch face, and sometimes it is 3-4 seconds before the screen wakes. Restarting device might improve the condition temporarily, but will return shortly after. Was perfectly fine until 6.0 and then the issue started. 6.0.1 DID NOT cure the issue.

I will try to contact Apple this afternoon. This needs to become a “known” problem. In the meantime, I’m feeling quite concerned as I’ve counted on my watch S4 for the heart health support for the past year. I know it’s not an ideal situation, but in reality my watch has been quite helpful in monitoring my heart health and has twice alerted me to the need to go to the ER! Will post back as soon as I can. It’s helpful to know I’m not alone.

Yes, it definitely has gotten slower. I have noticed that it’s not as smooth of an experience. Also, new messages don’t automatically show up when I tap on the “new messages” complication on the home screen. I miss that feature

Same issue for me on a series 4, my wife has noticed too and she is on series 3. Very annoying to have to tap over and over to get this thing to wake up. Does not always seem to happen though, kinda weird.

Good, I’m not the only one.

it appears Apple did this on purpose to slow down the series 4.

i guarantee it will never be fixed because they’re more worried about the series 5. The series 4 time has come to an end....

I no longer have the slow to wake issue anymore, but I keep having issues with the swipe to view notifications or swipe to view the control center not working. It happens everyday, and I have to reboot my watch in order for it to work properly again.

I did it on Sunday: they loaded watch registers. But it would be good if someone more complain...
