iOS 13 Notes changes don't sync very often

Ever since I updated my iPhone SE to iOS 13 (now at 13.1.1) & my iPad (5th gen) to iPadOS 13.1 (now 13.1.1) I have severe Notes syncing issues. Very often a modification made on one of the iOS 13 devices doesn't show up on other devices or modifications done on iOS 12 or macOS Mojave don't show up on iOS 13 devices.

In the latter case it's often enough to modify a note again from the device with an "older" OS so that the sync is triggered and all batched updates go to the iOS 13 devices.

I have a note shared with my wife; if she makes a notification I always see it in Mojave quickly, if I modify it in Mojave, she sees the update, too. Only when iOS 13 comes into play the sync breaks apart.

I was hoping iOS 13.1.1 fixed it since its release notes mentioned fixing slow syncing of Reminders but, alas, that's not the case. Has anyone seen the same issue or knows if there's a workaround?

I submitted it to Apple using the Web version of the Feedback Assistant, I also submitted a copy of the bug on Open Radar at https://openradar.appspot.com/radar?id=5055117506117632

I’ve just tested creating, editing, and deleting a new note after installing iOS 13.3 beta 2, and changes appear instantly (within 1–2 seconds) on my other devices.

They are: iMac running Catalina 10.15.1, iPad on iPad OS 13.3b2 and iPhone on iOS 13.3b2, all on the same network. I tested changes from each of these devices, and the other 2 are always reacting immediately. If Notes are important to you, try updating to iOS 13.3 beta 2.

Just wanted to confirm that I'm seeing exactly the same behavior on macOs 10.14.6 with iOS 13.1.2. You've described it perfectly. Even the tip you gave about making a small change on the Mac side to help push the sync through helped me. Thank you!

But it's all a shame on Apple though. Just at the moment I was starting to think that maybe their sync has gotten solid enough to trust it.

Hey 👋🏻, every body!

Since iOS 13 I have an awful synchronization between mine iPhone 7 and iPad Pro second generation notes. It takes a lot of time and if note has some attachments it takes up to several days or even not syncing at all. Only the one way to synchronize it surely - is switch off notes from iCloud on the device and switch it back. But any new one note (after off/on in iCloud) not syncing properly again.

Very sad 😞.

I’m having the exact same issue up to this morning.

Reminders is by far the most affected application for me.

The notes is definitely a problem as well. The leg having to do with sink makes it so the applications are essentially unusable in a typical working environment. It would be disrespectful to our clients to use Apples solution to cloud services when so many other vendors consistently do it as designed.

Have been an Apple user for probably 11 years.

I like most of what they do, and they do most of what they do very well

As far as cloud services go… It seems most other major companies like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, etc. Are all meaningfully superior as far as cloud services are concerned.
