Mail app leaving blank spaces

I was getting the same thing as too. I dont know if I fixed it or not but I can walk you trough getting rid of the blank spaces. First you need to delete the Iphone mail app. Then you need to re-download and install. Next go into your accounts go back in and turn mail back on for google, outlook, ... ect.

At least that gets rid of the annoying blank spaces not sure if it is a long term fix yet.

I figured out how to fix this

I just went to settings > mail then I clicked organize by thread

Thanks, turning off the organize by thread seems to do the trick!

Turning off organize by thread worked for me also.

Turning off organize by thread and latest update seems to have fixed it

Looks like a bug, I can fix it temporarily if I either quit and restart the Mail application or go to a different folder view, then the blanks go away

My wife has been having the same blanks issue with SKY mail on her iPhone 6s as well as the blue unread dot not clearing when mail has been read.

I checked the settings and there was a GMAIL account that was inactive.

I activated it and everything seems Hunky Dory at the moment. No blanks and Unread dot disappearing.

Let's hope it lasts.

She has these SKY and GMAIL accounts active on her laptop via Mozilla Thunderbird.

Maybe having GMAIL inactive on the iPhone only caused the confusion.

This problem appeared after the last update. It’s an Apple bug. But uninstalling and reinstalling yahoo also puts mail on PC out of sync. Someone suggested toggling the button on and off on the email connection instead of deleting and reinstalling the account. It’s worth a try.

I'm curious, what happens if you click on the filter button in the lower left corner to filter unread emails?

I have the issue with blank emails too (suddenly happened yesterday out of nowhere). And if I click the filter button, it has zero affect. It still shows the same read emails and blank emails before where it should only show me unread emails. HOWEVER, I also noticed that this odd new behavior only occurs when I'm in the "All Inboxes" tab. If I go to any of my individual inboxes, there are no blank emails and the filter button works like it should. It's super odd. Right now I'm in the middle of deleting all my accounts only to enter them right back in later. Hopefully that will fix this issue.

Turn off “organize by thread”. It’s under settings / mail

I tried this again toggling the mail account button. I didn’t rename the account but its been working ever since. Thanks. Hopefully the problem is permanently fixed.

I actually thought I had a six for this issue. I actually did not know you could delete the mail app on the iPhone which I did and then reinstalled it I knew I could delete the email account and re-install that which I have done over 20 times without it fixing the problem. When I deleted the Mail app and reinstalled it it did work for approximately a week but then the blank spaces came back. Something else everyone should know if you use another email app which I have now done called Spark it works very well.

Something interesting happened. I went into Mail to see how hard it was to delete my account and found my default email had changed somehow to iCloud. I changed it back to my name account and the errors have disappeared.

It is truly horrible customer service. I have talked to at least 10 different reps. Including supervisors and tech dept. all to no avail. I finally just downloaded another mail app Thru the App Store and I have had no issues.

unfortunately it just is not as easy to use as the iOS mail. It does seem crazy that this can’t be fixed.

This has been happening on my 8plus with my iCloud account! I also have Verizon.net account and have no problems with it.

I tried to turn off all the thread toggles and all my emails disappeared.

If I leave Organize by Thread on, the emails are back and the blank spaces are gone. Until I look at my other account. When I go back to iCloud email, the emails are there but so are the blank spaces.
