Airpods with Microsoft Teams

I have Airpods that work with my iPhone 7 most of the time, unfortunately the times they don't work is when I need them the most. My company uses Microsoft Teams to hold remote meetings and my airpods don't seem to work when dialing in to a Microsoft Teams meeting. I can hear everything perfectly fine, but no one can hear me. I have confirmed that they are charged, and regular phone calls work as well. I have tried "forgetting" the airpods as a device under my bluetooth settings and starting over. Other people don't seem to have this problem.

Any ideas?

I have this issue to and from what I have researched it appears there is a compatibility issue between the MS products and Apple products. I also have this issue with Skype for Business. If you look through the compatible devices for Teams and Skype the AirPods are not listed. I hope MS and Apple figure out a solution. I got my AirPods for the functionality of being able to use them with my laptop and having to swap back and forth between headsets based on the application I am using is a major pain point. Right now this issue is the reason I am not planning on upgrading to the new AirPods.
