Deleting Multiple Images in imessage

Yes it does. If you tap and hold a photo in a text conversation, a box opens with More, which when you tap More circles appear on the left of every comment and photo in that message. Tap the circles and then the trash can on the bottom left corner.

You don't need to click on info if you're inside a text conversation. Just hold your finger on a photo in that message until the box with More appears. If you choose the info option, do you not see, Show All Photos below the first few photos? Tap Show All Photos, then select all you want to delete by tapping the circle, then delete.

After going to info, go to where it says “see all photos”, it is below the first group of 4 photos. The a select button will show in upper right corner, use that to select multiple photos or screenshots.

Hi! When iOS 13 came out it took that function away from deleting multiple photos using the info choice next to the person’s name you are texting with. But after you update to iOS 13.2.3 you can now go to info , but you have to go down to “see all photos” , choose that, and “select” will come up in right hand corner so you can select all the photos or choose screenshots you want to delete at one time. But you have to update to 13.2.3. Try that. Check your current software and make sure it’s 13.2.3. Good luck.

My issue they still have, is some photos will NOT delete!!! Something is still wrong almost 3 months later!!!!

In iOS 13, in a text message hold your finger on any photo in the message until a dialog box pops up. Tap More. A circle will appear next to each response in the message, including each photo. Tap every photo you want to delete. Tap the trash icon and the Photos will delete.

that was the old way that worked with the little circle and you could select multiple photos. I have ios 13 and when you hold your finger on any photo in the message the dialog box does pop up. However, the MORE option is not available any more. There is Save, Copy, Share, or Delete. You can only delete ONE message at a time. Big pain.

The answer is you can't. For whatever reason, Apple changed this in iOS 13. So use the feedback link which has been provided to tell Apple you'd like this function brought back.

I can confirm this issue is now fixed in 13.2!! Back to the same behavior as iOS 12!!

I just updated to iOS 13.2. A “Select” option has been added to save or delete multiple images.

HOWEVER, there is STILL a bug that prohibits random photos from being deleted. I’m going to the Apple store for an explanation.

No, you have something which became corrupt and perhaps you got it when you updated to iOS 13, but iOS 13 is not the issue. Every device I have is running iOS 13.2.2. None have an issue such as you.

Troubleshooting steps you can try from simple to more complex:

1. Force close the apps --> How to force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
2. Force Restart your iPhone --> Force restart iPhone - Apple Support
3. Restore your iPhone from backup --> Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup - Apple Support

This is similar to the famous omnipotence paradox:

Since this forum isn’t the best place for philosophical debates, I tried finding a solution to delete multiple pics from a message thread, and I did, although PARTIAL only because some photos simply remain undeleted even after several attempts to delete them! But still better than crashing the Messages app using the regular method:

1. Click on the icon/initials on the top of the message thread
2. Click on the “i” (info)
3. Scroll down to Photos
4. Click on “See all photos”
5. Click on “Select” in the top right corner
6. Select and delete the photos you want

Hi! I have had this problem on my new iphone11 and on my iPad since installing iOS 13!!!! Never ever had this problem with ios12. I have contacted Apple 5 times about this, they know it’s been an issue since update came out. Now, not only can’t I delete certain pictures, but more have reappeared that were deleted!! So, the answer is, Apple has to fix the issue, and again, I don’t need people telling me how to delete a photo or attachment! Problem is with software , not us using it!!!!!

Did you read past the Opening Post? Clearly not. Deleting multiple photos in messages has been fixed in iOS 13.2.

And Apple is not reading these posts. This is a user to user only forum.

Have you updated to the latest update? 13.2 brought the functionality back.

This was fixed in a recent iOS update. If you haven't already done so, iOS 13.3 was released today.
