iphone 11 pro max crashing

Since 10/2/19 i have encounter a bug where my iphone 11 pro max is crashing. The phone will randomly shut down and restart it self. I could be watching youtube or doing anything on any app and the phone will shut down and restart, even on full charge. At one instance it did that multiple times in a row. Every time it would restart i would add my passcode and get on home screen and it would crash again. It just did that today too. I am currently on the latest update 13.1.2. Anybody else have the same problem?

I just rec’d a new iPhone 11 Pro Max 2 days ago. After charging (came with zero charge) and backing up from ICloud, it began to just shut down. I’d put the phone down and pick it up to a black screen. Would have to press the button and apple logo would appear and password due to restart was required. Went through apple support and after HOURs of effort including updating iTunes, and doing the update through iTunes, the problem persisted. I was told it must be SW related and it was suggested I set up as a new phone. Reluctantly I tried this and after about 7-8 hours where I slowly MANUALLY reset up and configured my phone , linked to my watch etc the problem resurfaced. The same exact issue and sometimes it would even turn itself on when I picked up the phone (no button press). So off to the apple store I went where the analytics showed multiple “panic” logs. They confirmed it was HW then and provided me a replacement for my 2 day old phone. Apparently the guy had never seen this on this phone but this thread has me wondering. So for those of you with this same issue - it’s not your case. It’s not your SW. And it’s not from copying the image from your old phone. Check the analytics log and look for files that say panic... apparently just a couple is not an issue but if there are several.... red flag. Problem will not just resolve itself.

I have the 11 Pro, same issue. I've yet to have it happen whilst using, but it restarts 5-10 times a day. Also done both most recent software updates, and factory reset twice to exclude any of my old data causing it. Apple Support have also run diagnostics over the phone with no problems found. I've been advised to exchange as it doesn't seem to be software based after those checks were done - I'll be taking it into a store next week. Frustrating for a new phone to have this issue!

Update. So the problem is not cause by any case. For anyone who is thinking it’s there case. After my phone completely crashed last week I had it replaced and so far it’s working fine. No crashes. Did a back up from the clouds so still using the same apps and everything. Don’t think the apps are the issue here. Advice don’t wait too long just go have your phone replaced.

I had contact with Apple this morning. A remote support journal didn't show any hardware defects. Next step is to re-initialise the iOS which I'm currently doing (short volume up, short volume down and then keeping the power button until it wants to re-install form scratch. Wired tot I-tunes to do this.) Now it is reinstalling my apps from iCloud. I'll report if this helps stop crashing my 2 day old iPhone 11 pro Max 265Gb night green. It crashed 3 to 4 times a day at completely random activities.

Further to my last post, I've had a replacement since Saturday (12th Oct) with no issues. Restored from prvious iPhone same as my prior 11 Pro. Agree that if you have this issue, backup, factory restore, and replace whilst you can.

When I was packing my first 11 Pro back up - factory reset, no set-up, and shut down it actually restarted just as I put it in the box - didn't even know it could 'restart' whilst shutdown (i.e. apple logo flashed up, then back to shutdown).

Updating to 13.2.2 has fixed the restart and failure of the face recognition problems I was having while at home (never seemed to reset while on cellular only or possibly away from my HomePods).

Solid performance now for 4 days. I'll update this if the problem returns.

The other great news: I did NOT submit a repair request, yet Apple service contacted me, asking me to turn on tracing to diagnose the problem. The 13.2.2 update came out before I had to report back.

I've had the same restarting and crashing going on. My Iphone 11 pro max had cpu problems, which forced the cpu to reduce heat and finally shut the phone down in order to protect the internals from overheating. I brought it to the apple store, on the first time the apple genius had my phone completly wiped. But shortly after that it was clear that the crashing did not stopped after a clean install. Then I got a replacment phone without paying anything extra. Now stable so far with the new one.

It is 100% a hardware issue. I just had a replacement 11 pro sent because my day 1 phone has been buggy since i opened it. i did multiple restores and apple techs kept blaming it on a corrupt backup. i had used the same back up on a restore of my XS and it wasn't having any problems, so i ruled that out and spent a few hours on the chat help before i finally convinced them to send a replacement. I'm not sure what part of the hardware was faulty, someone suggested it may be the RAM which seems logical to me. Either way i'm on day two of the replacement phone and haven't had it crash once. The original would crash randomly 10 or more times a day and there was no rhyme or reason to why it would crash. Apple needs to come clean on whatever component, production or manufacturing problems they had in their first run because i know if i was having this annoying *** problem on a $1200 phone there are a lot of other people suffering through the same thing that should be given a free replacement. mic drop

Though my problem has already been solved by a brand new replacement, I am still subscribed to this thread.

There is no solution except getting a new one. My new phone is amazing. The new photo options are so wonderful, yet I had not paid any attention to them because of the issues.

Getting a replacement is such a hassle but, in my opinion, there is no substitute for this.

I would be leery of a software fix. I could be mistaken but my 6S had a problem that was fixed by an update that hindered on purpose some of its abilities.
