Has anyone determined a fix for their iPhone 6 crashing repeatedly since the iOS 12.5.4 update? My phone is restarting on an almost daily basis; and multiple Apple and third party apps are crashing less than a minute after being opened. It has been an awesome phone; and, although the latest iPhones are marvelous, it would be great to keep this iPhone 6 Plus operational.

I would suggest that you back up your phone, restore it as new using your computer. This will load a fresh copy of iOS onto the device. Once you've got everything up and running, restore your backup.

What is the % shown? Less than 80%?
If its the original battery or it has been replaced by a third party it is a big suspect.

Back it up and then restore it to factory state using a computer. Doing it from a computer is important as it will install a clean copy of iOS. Test it. If it doesn't crash anymore, try restoring your backup. If things continue to work, it was probably a bad install. If the problem comes back, you'll know that something you installed on the phone is causing a problem.
Thankfully, after turning my phone off overnight, it came back on long enough to delete a few videos from the "videos" folder... and then from the "recently deleted" folder. After that, I was able to transfer the photos to my computer and delete them. Problem solved.

Do you have VPN or antivirus apps installed?
12.5.4 was a security update and iphones don't really like those unnecessary security add-ons.

You don't. You make arrangements to have your phone serviced and accept the fact that, because you didn't back up regularly (iCloud will back up nightly automatically), you are going to lose data.

I just sat down to the computer to make suggest this same action in order to solve your dilemma. It worked for me! I'm glad that your iPhone stayed on long enough for you to make the initial transfer of picture and videos!
Ah, yes. Lack of free space on the phone will cause all sorts of weirdness. Glad you got it figured out.

apparently, the issue was associated with a nearly full iPhone storage. when I transferred all of my photos to my iMac and deleted about a dozen disused apps, the remaining apps on this iPhone 6 Plus again functioned without crashing. backing up is always a good idea. it should be noted that the iPhone worked without issues prior to the iOS 12.5.4 update. thanks for your suggestions!
Good reason to back up regularly like every week, then when the phone crashes like this you only lose a week if data.
