Apparently, there has been a major system upgrade to my Apple TV box. I am trying to listen to Pandora app and after 15 minutes (which is what I have as a timeout for the box) it shuts down. How can I keep the box on and active while listening to my Pandora stations?
I had the same issue and by going to adjusting the Sleep setting under General from 15 minutes (default) to Never (or whatever timeframe) should solve the problem.

Yea, likely - Apple probably adjusted some setting that now Pandora and other music apps will need to update. This is my solution in the mean time. That said - you can always put Apple TV to sleep manually by holding the home button (the TV icon) on the Apple Remote for 3 seconds which slides in the control center and allows you to put the Apple TV to sleep. Per Apple:
Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD: With your Siri Remote or Apple TV Remote,* press and hold Home 
for three seconds to bring up Control Center, then select Sleep. Or select Sleep Now in Settings.
I thought of that but then when I want to turn off the TV which I do and let the Apple box time out won't that keep it one indefinitely? Inquiring minds wanna know.

Thanks for the tip. However, I am not sure how changing these settings would help me, since I do not want my TV to go off when I am still using it. I will wait until someone updates the App settings. For my second issue, I simply unplug my HDMI cable when I am not using my TV.

I have had the same experience with a different internet radio app.
I’m thinking these kinds of audio focused apps count as “Apple TV inactive” for the sleep timer.
Interesting because, up until the update this last week.... I never had this problem. I wonder if Apple is trying to squeeze out the competition? You know restraint of trade?
I just had this issue today and updated my Apple TV this past Friday. I didn't have an issue with it before.
I am in the same situation, this did not start happening until the last update. Also, my TV randomly turns on since the new update. My Apple TV obviously shut down after 15 minutes but my TV stays on
