Transfer saved game apps from iPhone to ipad

I have an iPad Air 2 (3rd gen) and I transferred apps that I wanted on the iPad. When I went to play the game on one of them it started me back at the begging instead of the level I had reached on the iPhone. How can I get my saved data as well on the iPad
