Windows install "error"

I have an older MacBook Air running Mojave. Today I'm trying to install Windows 10 using BootCamp assistant. Windows install runs....then during the final restart to Windows, it hangs with the error message:

Restarting repeatedly just brings up the same error.

I started over with the earlier ISO image, with the same result.

No clue what to do at this point.

Thoughts?

Thanks

This will not work. You need a USB2 flash drive of 8+ GB.

by options do you mean the three possible options boot camp asks for on the first screen? If that’s the case they are all checked.

A 2014 Mac should show Create, Download and Install. I assume that is what you see.

  • Checking Create, automatically checks Download.
  • Unchecking Create allows you to Download the BC drivers to a USB2 Flash drive.
  • Install partitions and starts the W10 installer.

Has any hardware been replaced on your MBA?

OWC is also losing money in this deal, by first selling something, and then having to return it. It would be in OWC's interest to clearly put a label on the box, to avoid issues. They are trying to avoid the case that people stop buying their product, due to a lack of BC support.

I hope you have been offered appropriate compensation for your efforts.
