iPados 13 Photo Search Not working

Since installing iPad OS the search function in photos does not work.

The photos are there and they are in albums.

But any specific search returns ‘No Results’ message.

Even when starting to type a search, it doesn’t come up with suggestions as you type.

The only search that works is for a date.

its as if all the metadata has been stripped from the photos.
