The Catalina installation seems to be stuck for hours with:
“Estimating time remaining...”
I don’t recall having an installation on previous OSs taking so long.
Forced reboot and back to the same stage.
Anybody?
Solved.
The process is long. Like very loooooooooooong. Longer than any other OS I’ve installed (except Windows).
I just let it sit and do its thing. Overall it took about 3 hours.
Solution: Go old school grab a book. And wait

Too funny but frustrating. I’ve been looking at the “bar of no movement” so long I see it with my eyes closed.
Same here. Started setting up at 5 PM yesterday . It is 10 AM today still setting up.
It is also called Community Support for members to help one another and not berate one another.

my installation is frozen stuck with a blank screen for several hours now.
I tried to restart, after initial progress bar back to the same state.
Any ideas?
Same problem. It’s been hours. Like 6 hours
Did that. confirming your information is on target. immediately rebooted with new OS

Turn that Ef'r off. It'll boot up fine. It's stuck in a loop
