does anyone know how to get your photos and links indexed on their iMessage?

I've been having this same problem and this seems to have fixed it for me:
I was not connected to wifi when I did this.

i followed the steps to turn off Siri and that worked.
been fighting with this for days.
in truth I followed the steps with Siri, turned off all settings in Messages and also logged out of iCloud this time.
might have to do all three at once. But I feel that turning off Siri was the winner
interesting.. mine finally worked after I had to plug it into the wall on wifi for 4 days without using the phone. luckily I had old phone so I took out sim car and used the old while the new one finished loading.. but good to know. I just turned off Siri completely so hopefully everything will still work great. I'll have to try that on my laptop too. turn off Siri and see if stuff starts working better...

I'm having the same problem. I'm in sales and I;m constantly searching message for keywords and now it doesn't find anything I'm looking for.
My recent call list also take me to close the phone app and open it again before it updates to my recent calls.
Crap response from apple. Come on guys.
I’m also having this problem, and it’s been a week. I have synch 1GB/1GB Wifi at home so definitely not a connection problem.
im also having a plethora of other issues including crashes, apps not responding, etc. ever since updating to 13.1.2 on my iPhone X. I’m not one to normally complain about bugs, but this has to be the worst update ever released by Apple. Totally unacceptable, I miss Steve— he’s probably rolling in his grave over the lack of quality control Apple has allowed on this iOS release.
This update was awful I have never complained about anything Apple before spent an hour on phone w customer support this morning only to he told I would have to do a complete restore and that the indexing will not happen so this update is garbage I will be changing from Apple after 10
years of nothing but Apple and if they delete this post then really screw Apple
I am having this issues as well.. says messages indexing.. this is ridiculous.. I can't get any past photos from going to (i) on the message tab and pull up old photos that were texted to me.. I can see them on my MacBook but not my iPhone.. Unreal...
yeah I had to go back to my older MacBook Pro since I didn't update it because of the issues I am having with Catalina.. so thankfully it works.. the search in the mail app is really frustrating.. I use it a ton and search of emails, etc.. everyday and I can't do it anymore since this update.. Lucky I have option otherwise I'd be screwed.. I hope they fix this problem soon
Im having the same problem. Lost all my husbands texts except ones dated after mid October. Also, sent a text to my co-workers yesterday wishing Happy Thanksgiving. Received several responses. Woke this morning and had one more response, but all the ones from yesterday are GONE. Whats odd is that it’s not affecting any other texts. I had turned on message back up to the cloud, but when I checked, those messages are not there. So Frustrating

I have this same issue. I have tried all the tricks including leaving it on WiFi and plugged in for a few days now. I didn’t have this issue until 13.1
Either did i. I’ve had a number of problems with new IOS and Catalina. It’s horrible.
Same problem. Occurred after update Messages says still indexing but no change. Rebooted phone. No luck. Fortunately on ipad which I won’t update until iPhone is fixed. Apple we need a fix.
Will Apple or someone help understand how to fix indexing? This is really unbelievable
