Removed case and glass from LCD as Apple Support want. Problem still persists. I found that turning ON VoLTE helps! As long as phone is connected via LTE there is no echo; when it switch to 3G - it starts echoing. My carrier told me to turn off VoLTE. That that's all what they can do...

Wow, this is ridiculous! I came to see if anyone else had the echo problem and I seen there are a lot of people who also bought the iPhone 11 Pro Max and have the echo issue. With the extensive amount of people with the same issue with their newest model you would think there would already be a fix. I also have Verizon, but I see the carrier is not the issue because all different services have the same problem. This is so annoying!

Hi everyone -

Last night I reported that the online Apple Support staffer acknowledged that this was a known issue and scheduled an appointment for him for today at our local Apple Store. The assumption on both ends of the phone was that his phone would need to be swapped out.

When he arrived at the store the guy checking people in said that this is the first he has heard of this, and if this is a real problem he would have heard all about it. However, when my husband got to the person at the Genius Bar who was assigned to assist him, he was told by that guy that this is a VERY well known problem, lots of people have this problem with their new phones including him ("we are all in this together"), it is NOT a hardware problem, they are working on a fix, and the next software release, coming in the next day or so, will NOT have the fix for this problem. So a trip for nothing except to know that "we are not alone".

I just spent an hour on the phone with a senior tech at apple. THey looked up this forum and are taking notes. She heard the echo while talking to me and had my phone send her the logs of our conversation. SHe said she would email me tonight or call me back in the morning and tell me what the engineer is saying to do. They appear to be getting more calls about this so we need to keep at it to solve the problem. I'm not getting the echo on my air pods too so the problem is progressing on my end. We checked every setting she told me to turn off the noise cancellation button and that did nothing. I really hope they figure this problem out. She also mentioned a new SIM card but then read in this forum that didn't help.

Hey everyone, I talked to a senior a few hours ago. They are aware of the issue, but honestly, I don’t think they intend on fixing it. The senior told me to try using my phone without a case (which I will never do with a 1,000 phone). A case should not be the problem for this issue. The advisor was extremely nice, but I’m still right at square one. They told me to try turning my volume down or having the receiver turn their volume down. Again, this is ridiculous and you shouldn’t have to jump through hoops to make a phone call on a phone that costs 1,000+ dollars. Ahh😕

I have the same issue with the iphone 11 Pro Max

Every single person I call immediatley asks me to take my phone off the speaker.

  • I have tested this with iOS 13.2, 13.3, and 13.3.1 beta and they all have the same problem
  • Lowering the volume on the speaker phone does not resolve the issue
  • taking the case off does not resolve the issue.
  • The Support representative was able to hear the echo and did some basic trouble shooting with no results
  • I provided this thread number to be forwarded to engineering team.

I reached out to Apple Care and was advised that they are aware of the issue and have sent a message to engineers. I was told it might be a software issues and they do not have an estimated time of resolution.

As of now, Apples response is "Oh Gee, that is really frustrating but we have no solution and a replacement probably wont solve your problem"

So Basically its a $1,600 phone with no speakerphone capabilities...

I explained to the representative that if they are not able to resolve this issue I would like a refund on my purchase and I was advised that I can call back and follow up, if the issue does not resolve by the next update.
