Removed case and glass from LCD as Apple Support want. Problem still persists. I found that turning ON VoLTE helps! As long as phone is connected via LTE there is no echo; when it switch to 3G - it starts echoing. My carrier told me to turn off VoLTE. That that's all what they can do...

only from the fact that previous posts reported that this was not an issue with every phone discussed here. For some, like in my family, 1 out of 2 has the problem. So by definition the % has to be less than 100. I kind of wish it was higher, because when I was on the phone with the Apple Support team the first time she mentioned that there was some other issue that was impacting most people and that was addressed in their next update. I don't remember what it was. On the other hand, she tried to tell me that this issue had many fewer complaints, which I attributed to the fact that I am not sure how many people use their speaker, or maybe they have friends who are too polite to complain.

I got it fixed!!!! I have an iPhone X with iOS 13.3, Took screenshots of what I changed but it seems to be under Accessibility > VoiceOver > Audio > Sound & Haptics

Not sure what haptics is, but I disabled Audio Ducking, Haptics, and Match Speech Volume

under Accessibility > Audio/Visual > Speech I disabled Use Pitch Change

under the Accessibility > Audio/Visual

I enabled mono audio and disabled Phone Noise Cancellation

I hope this helps and FWIW I posted the steps I took in reverse order so maybe we can pinpoint the exact cause if someone wants to try each and reply. Cheers!

I got my first Iphone 11 pro max back in November 2019. I started realizing the echo on the receivers end about a week or 2 in. I have been on the phone with techs, senior techs (cant even begin to calculate how much time i have put into this - having to repeat my story over and over...each tech thinks THEY have the solution and want to retry something that has already been done.), software wiped and reinstalled, hardware checked, had tmobile verify there are no service provider (tech today insists that if the new phone doesnt resolve this "it has to be the service provider")issues. I came in store today to get Mac Air battery replace and figured why not continue my complaining since its not resolved. They have replaced the phone (now on my 3rd one) yet again. Its just comical to me at this point. I have basically had to adjust my habits to use my ear buds all the time and cross fingers all the reporting of the issue gets us all some where. Super annoyed, exhausted, and disappointed with this company which I had had only positive experiences with previously.

My iphone 7 plus functioned better. sigh sigh sigh... Good luck everyone. Cross your fingers and ask for good karma because nothing else will work

I have read through most of this 21page thread and have tried everything everyone suggested (other than getting rid of it) and is still having the echo issue. Mine is only for when my wife is on Speaker (she has iphone 11 promax) and i am using an android phone (Pixel). There are no echo issues when I use my apple phone/ipad or laptop to talk with her. This problem has been mentioned since release and Apple is not having any official responses is very frustrating. Now with COVID-19 getting a replacement is weeks-months away if we choose this option. This is ridiculous for a company as big as Apple. Please provide some sort of response, officially so we don't have crazy anxiety from buyer's remorse.
