the directions when you update tell you how to setup a “memoji” which is an emoji that looks like you. If you skipped these directions, it defaults to a unicorn. Tap the ... next to the unicorns and make your Memoji, then you’ll see those instead of the unicorns.

this site has a solution - there’s a way to turn off memojis from your messages keyboard (swipe all the way to the right and click the ... and delete)

it also says once you toggle the unicorns off by clicking the clock in the emoji keyboard, it should remember that and not show them when you open the emoji keyboard again

Not everyone hates these or cares because it is takes an iPhone with Face ID to had the unicorn appear first.

I like the unicorn.

These dire 1st World problems are pretty funny to the rest of us!

Still begs the question WHY Apple has made 'memoji's' Whats the use? Its some bullshit. There are hundreds of features they could've built in IOS 13 that could actually HELP people in their every day use with their iPhones. But no, they give us useless **** while still charging 1300$ for a phone with ****** Emoji's, Animoji's en Memoji's. Whats next? Shitoji's?}

13.1.1 is out, no fix for optional removal of Memoji's from the keyboard. 13.1.2 around the corner? Memoji's gone? THATS what the people want.

As a paying customer, you can think whatever you wish, but that is akin to the petulant child stamping their foot and demanding life be as they wish it to be. In reality, you and all of the rest of us, paid to buy into Apple's ecosystem of products and creativity. Currently, Apple has another customer from you in mind who might like things as they are, who likes and uses emoji, Memoji and even unicorns for that matter. You obviously like emojis or you wouldn't have discovered the unicorn to begin with. So you have bought into Apple's vision of creativity to a point, but the Memoji and its unicorn seems a step too far.

Which goes back to the concept that you can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time.

The "clock icon" does no delete any emojis, it just sends you to the "last used" ones. And if you have not used any unicorn emoji then they will not appear. But they will still be in the library, and they will also pop up when you go back into the emojis from the text menu. That's whats actually anoying!! THat Apple puts them right there, before your most frecuently used ones. Like we are all 3-18 yr old girls (and not all girls like them by the way).

Small thing, I know, baring in mind that iPhones and iPads are such brilliant devices, but the unicorn emojis ARE horrible AND in the way!

ALso, WHY??! reduce the volume indicator to a tiny, difficult to see, line at top of phone? I wear spectacles for close work....

I leave my iPhone next to my bed at night in case of an emergency call, but I turn the volume down low...... I used to be able to do this without my specs on......can hardly see the blooming thing now....even with specs on!

PS, spare a thought for the older generation........the older I get the smaller the txt on important items seems to become eg medicine packets

PPS. I’m possibly classed as a grumpy old woman.....but I’m not daft and it appears that my son-in-law even agrees with the previous moans!😊

Yes it’s a first world problem but when I pay $1000 for a phone I expect to be able to use it without someone randomly deciding what I like and making it impossible to change.

The “first world problems” statement,

Dah-Veed 🙄, is over used. I care about other countries‘ as well as our own poor and hungry. That doesn’t invalidate every problem or frustration I have. I am able to keep a perspective at the same time I have problems!
