Notes not syncing or uploading to iCloud After iOS 13 Update

Yeah - I think it's the only way to solve it. I spent another 2 hours on the phone with the helpdesk last night, and still nothing to show as it is still not syncing. I am having problems with the universal clipboard feature also, and I am convinced the two are linked.

It's odd, because all items recognise when you are in an app - ie on the iPad dock it shows the app you are using on the iPhone, and the same for Macbook etc, but for some reason the cut and paste feature no longer works.

Thanks for the suggestion and I'm glad it's resolved for you. However I think Apple need to fix this. What you describe above is not easily achievable for many users, e.g. my 76 year old mother and would take way too long. If there's something about the existing folders or notes which is tripping up the Notes sync then in my view Apple need to find it.

Correct. This is too complicated, it takes a lot of time and I only have 300 notes. Apple indeed needs to find what's wrong and solve it. Even with my solution, syncing is slow and sometimes only syncs when the Mac mini Notes app is closed.

I use Notes continuously and I couldn't wait for Apple anymore.

Anyone else having a problem with Photos? It seems I am having a similar syncing problem with Photos. It also appears that full size jpg files are being downloaded to devices when I have it set to optimize. I am also getting ran out of memory error messages on my new MacBook, which then crashes Photos. Terrible. I waited all summer for Catalina and did not install the beta for fear of these problems. I installed the GM version and then got hit with all the issues. :(

Same here, Notes not syncing from iPhone to iCloud after upgrade to iOS 13.1.3. no matter what I do (all the usual restart, reboot, delete, reconnect etc etc.). So unbelievably frustrating when you use notes as part of your daily working routine across several iDevices...

I am having the exact same problem. I have a December 2017 MacBook Pro 15" with Catalina 10.15 (updated version of OS), an iPhone 6 with iOS 12.4.2 and an iPad Pro 12.9" with iOS 13.1.3. All my stuff is syncing except Notes going from the MacBook Pro to the iPhone or iPad, AND not synching from the iPad to the MacBook Pro or iPhone. It works going TO the MacBook and iPad from the iPhone 6, just not FROM the MacBook or iPad . Changes from the iPhone 6 appear on the iPad and MacBook in seconds. Nothing in the other direction. I’ve also done the whole sign out and sign in rodeo (and lost some Notes that were created on my MacBook in iCloud that had not synched).

This is unbelievable!!

I have been a huge fan of Apple products for many years because the software solutions were always simple and elegant.

But what is this?? My notes are essential for my work and life! I have already wasted several days trying to fix this notes synchronisation issue, having done everything I can think of (and all of the mentioned suggestions in this post, thank you everyone) and also talking to Apple support (the person was not even aware of the issue!). Nothing fixed it!

I am sorry to say this but Apple should be very ashamed for releasing software that breaks down people's work flow completely!!

I migrated my notes and task manager away from the Apple iCloud Eco-system about two weeks now because of the issues. Mainly because Apple not even acknowledged the problem or provided a ETA for a fix. It is over 20 days.

Not only did some notes not sync, also parts of some of the synced notes where missing (tables, pictures, hand-written notes etc. It is amazing how bad Apple responds to these issues (I mean no response at all).

Who would have expected this. I am even considering to migrate the remaining service like iCloud Storage, Photos and whatever I can to use other Cloud Service (AWS, Microsoft, Google, Box).

I'm still seeing delays in replication, most times nothing happens until I restart Notes on my Mac. Still not getting the spinning wheel so looks like it's not syncing often if at all.

While looking at Notes in icloud.com on the web using a browser I also noticed a strange graphic on the note which has synced, which I've never seen before and is only on the Notes I've updated since Catalina. Trying to insert here ...

It looks like some sort of page icon and appears at the start of a fresh update. In this case and update on my Mac which eventually made it to iCloud and then to my iPhone

I’m not sure what this icon is telling me. I know that it doesn’t exist on any notes pre-Catalina upgrade, it only appears when an update has been synced from another device, I can only see it on the iCloud web interface and not in notes on my Mac or on my phone. I do know however that I have not added any attachments to this note, all I have done is type text into the notes on one of my devices. To me it looks like some sort of control character that is getting added by the sync process. What it means is a mystery to me, I’ve tried googling the image to see if anyone’s had anything similar anywhere else and had no hits or matches.

There is no fix for any of this until the next update. Let's hope the fix is in that update. Until then, all these measures might help for a minute ... but, again, they do not in any way fix the problem. All on Apple side.

Didnt work for me. Nothing is syncing. No notes at all... I’ve tried everything over the last two weeks... I feel like I have thousands of dollars worth of useless equipment. I could have gotten a cheap PC and google docs.

horrible. Seems like it’s only effecting a small percentage of people and it’s not worth Apple’s time to provide us with support.

Of all the OS updates in the past 35 years this has been the ugliest. I'm appalled at how badly Apple has broken my workflow with this. Shame on you guys. Set realistic development goals. I'm sure Dev+SQA were pulling doubles to get this out the door and once again, marketing says go before it's ready. FAIL.
