Apple Pay issue after update to iOS 13

Make sure your credit card shows up on your wallet app. If it doesn’t, add it.

If that doesn’t solve the problem, go to SETTINGS - TOUCH ID & PASSCODE - allow access when locked: Wallet is turned on

Also go to SETTINGS - WALLET & APPLE PAY - allow access when locked: Double click home button is turned on

Simple test:

Settings > Touch ID & Passcode 

Toggle off: iPhone Unlock

Toggle on: Everything else

Result:

Phone doesn't unlock, Passcode prompt showed up, Apply Pay doesn't respond to Touch ID when locked.

What happens when you turn off the double click?

Apple Pay no longer works as it always has after 13.1. I have v 13.1.2 and just tried using Apple Pay at 2 locations today. Instead of waving it in front of the reader and your Apple Pay pops up and you give it your print, now waving it brings up your sign in for the lock screeen. You have to hit the Home button for a fingerprint, pull the phone away from the payment device for a few seconds, wave it again and then Apple Pay pops up and then you can use your fingerprint to pay. Not at all convenient anymore

Touch ID no longer works for Apple Pay from lock screen. Confirmed on iPhone 7.

This is not a solution for the problem I am seeing. It was already checked on my phone. I toggled it and it didn’t help. It only allows access to the wallet upon double clicking from the lock screen. What we had and want is to wave the phone in front of the pos with the lock screen up and the wallet and default card pops up.

Do you have a link that supports this statement? This link - Use Touch ID on iPhone and iPad - Apple Support says the opposite of what you said.

iphone 7 has the same problem.

I am having the same problem with my SE. It only works after you open your phone and sometimes I have had to drill down to Apple Wallet before it works.
