Does anybody have iPhone backup issues on Catalina

I have installed Catalina on my MacBook Air yesterday. I have subsequently tried to back up my iPhone (via the new Finder log-in). It seems to back up fine, but I don't get a file name (it shows 'unknown', and I only have one backup file (2001/01/01 2.00), despite having done a number of backups. Anybody out there having the same issues? I suspect it's a glitch, but I want to be sure. Thanks

Hello robimoto,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! I see you have a question about backing up your iPhone with macOS Catalina, and I'd like to help out.

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch has been updated to show the steps for macOS Catalina.

The steps to find your computer backups are in this article: Locate backups of your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

You mentioned that your iPhone backup was named "unknown". If you look at your iPhone, in Settings > General > About > Name, is there a name entered for your iPhone? If not, add a name, then follow the steps to back up your iPhone again and then check if the backup is named.

Let me know if those steps result in a named backup that you can locate.

Cheers!
