Catalina support for Canon 32-bit printer drivers

Great answer Michael! I installed the Mojave driver, despite the Canon site telling me there is no driver for my printer that works under Catalina. But thanks to you my Canon software seems to work the way it did before! :)

Since Catalina Canon TS5051 would print but not scan. Downloaded ICA driver 4.3.4 from here https://mpdriver-canon.com/canon-pixma-ts5051-driver/ Now scans fine.

macOS Catalina 10.15.XX Canon Pixma MG3022

IJ Scan Utility 2.3.7 (current as of this time) only worked after I D/L the "ICA" driver (not "CUPS" driver which is first on the list).

* I had installed Firmware version 1.07 (from 1.02) on that printer previously. I don't know if that had anything to do with it, but I doubt it.

Nothing, and I mean Nothing to do with scanning worked until I installed the latest "ICA" driver. I was always able to print from macOS Catalina because their generic printer driver was compatible. The Scan software would not even come up without the "ICA" driver. Kinda important for Canon to mention that, as it is the last driver on the page and most people go to the first driver listed. It was confusing.

I can scan Docs and Photos and store them now.

When I had problems scanning with my TS9020, technical support asked me to download either the IJ Scan Utility or IJ Scan Utility Lite and the software from the optional drivers web page. I have no problems scanning now.

I've been using VueScan, the free version for a long time...works for me...Thank you~!

to scan I put my printer to Scan and then I downloaded VueScan which is free, then when you click on it and it activates you just click Ok which takes the pop up screen down, then hit Scan, and any adjustments you want and when it's done scanning, it will ask you to save it. I click No and then I do a screen shot or whatever it's called when you hold the Command/Shift and 4 down and the curser shows up and you hold and move it to the exact thing you want to screen shot, which will then be saved to my desktop and then I can attach it to emails, or print it, etc.

Still get the same "A required file is missing or corrupted..." error, as many people keep saying.

Not a single person on this thread stated that.

And, many others have managed to get their scanners to work with Image Capture. Some had to install the ICA (Image Capture Architecture) drivers for their scanner.

What I can't do is scan.

Try Image Capture or Preview to scan. If they don't work try the demo version of VueScan.  

This is not actually true. My pixma MP470 is no longer supported. When I try to use it, Apple asks for a driver and states that "Software for this printer isn't available from Apple. Contact the printer's manufacturer for the latest software."

If you can't find a Canon driver that will work with your Canon iP4600 give Gutenprint a try. It's an free, open source driver the supports quite a few printers from all manufacturers.

I've recently upgraded to macOS 10.15.4 Catalina and my Canon iP4600 is no longer compatible, I'm sorry, but I don't feel like it's possible.

I just updated a Mac with Catalina and updated the drivers for Canon MX925. Just visit the driver support site of Canon and download the latest drivers (for Mojave). Even the IJ Scan Utility (v19.1.0h) is updated and works fine with Catalina.

I don't know why you keep saying this everywhere... it does NOT work and you are just polluting this board. Still get the same "A required file is missing or corrupted..." error, as many people keep saying. Quit being a error yourself and let people reply with an actual solution.
