Having battery drain issues since I updated to 13.1.2!!!

I have iPhone 7 with 256 GB and almost 100 GB available.

I used to listen to podcasts during my train ride to work every day - today it drained the entire bat for 45 minutes of podcast !

worst upgrade YET!

One of the things that it could be related to is network or the at&t carrier.

Call is what drains the battery the most, safari second.

Yesterday I got a notification about carrier update, I just pressed ok. Not sure if this will help but I believe that are other things related for the battery to drain faster with the IOS13.1.3.

I also called apple and they run a remote test on my phone, everything was ok according to the three tests they run.

They suggested me to do a restore which I have done weeks ago but i didn’t fix anything.

I look at the battery chart and activities and it looks fine, I don’t see anything abnormal.

Still not sure what else to do.

Close to tape a battery pack on the back of this phone, really.

watch what you say here or Apple will make threats against you for stating the truth. My post "When are they going to admit there is an issue with IOS 13.1.2?" was taken down because I have been going back and forth with them with the fact I am having the same battery problems as many others and even there own support team says it is an issue with IOS 13. this is what they didn't like but all the truth."

I have seen hundreds of people with different Apple devices with the same battery issue since they installed IOS 13.1.2. Battery going dead quickly. Called support and they remoted into my phone and found battery to be operating at 96% which there should be no issue at all. they also found that the IOS was using all the battery power. hearing stories of people being told they have to replace their device or battery by Apple. this is wrong. My phone used to run all day and when I plugged it in at bedtime would still have 45% or more depending on usage that day. Since new IOS update , the battery is below 20% after 2 hours. They tell me they are working on it. I don't see what is taking so long. they know there is an issue but will not publicly admit it. Instead trying to line their pockets with more money from customers who don't know there is an IOS issue!!! Step up Apple and do the right thing here!!!!!"

This was in response to there nasty message they sent back not liking my post. this was also taken down. "Just posting the information so others are aware of what is going on. I have been in contact with Apple on this case several times and the case still is not resolved. Just posting so others know there is a software issue and it is not there equipment so they don't have to spend hundreds of dollars for new equipment when there equipment is actually fine. Thanks for your input. Have a blessed day."

I came to this question through the search. I have a two year old 6S and had upgraded to 13.1.2 with no noticeable battery problems. Then I did the next release 13.1.3 with terrible results. Each day I go below 20% power and put it on a charger. I have never had to do this with any of the three iPhones that I have owned. I optimized several settings as recommended in other post. I did get an improvement to 38% power left, but I did not use my phone as much today, so there may have been no improvement. Is there a way to go back to an earlier version? This is the last time I will load an upgrade as soon as it is out. I normally wait several months, but this upgrade had so much hype, I wanted to see it. Bad idea! (I did not upgrade the iOS on my wife's 6S and it is doing fine, despite being four years old.)

Everyone I speak to with an iPhone where I live in Japan has or has had a problem with the 13.1.2 update. One person with an iPhone SE who went to his provider’s shop for help because his battery was draining in one hour, was told to either buy an expensive new battery or buy an iPhone 11 😂 ... Another friend with an iPhone 10 installed 13.1.2 and then couldn’t use safari!! .... It only showed a white screen. Ironically she could use google chrome 😂😂😂. After a week the 13.1.3 update brought her safari back, but what a great promotion for google!!! Both thee friends and many others were grateful for my help in saving battery usage highlighted in this thread. Quite an education on what to switch off!! 😁

Personally, my iPhone SE is fine again after following all the battery saving ideas here and after installing 13.1.3. I’m sending no data to Apple but saving hours of battery life 😊

I called Apple support and was instructed to turn off a few more features. I had already done the ones suggested on this forum. Nothing helped. My power would go to less than 20% every evening. Then it got better without any changes on my part. My theory is that one or more apps were pulling down the battery. These get updated often, so one would never know. The battery life history did not point out an offending app. Here we have been blaming the iOS, when it may be an app. Still Apple is or should be responsible. Like so many, I am ready to switch to Samsung, but will wait until this gets sorted out. What is disheartening is that Apple provides no information. Apple, tell us what is going on!

Same with me. iPhone SE suddenly got less than half the battery life as stone as I got the beta back in May. I already had my settings optimized with background app refresh of on most my apps etc. after a month I realized it was my WiFi. If I turned it off, it was back to what I expected. Filled bug reports and waited, but even after the public release, same problem. Tried restoring my device in case it was some thing buggy from upgrading or the betas, but no Improvement. Finally decided it must be the model of phone itself so I boy the bullet and upgraded to the iPhone 11Pro. Guess what? Still the same issue! If I turn WiFi off I get 2 full days, but worth WiFi on, only one. The graph in the battery setting shows a steady slope down at more than twice the angle with out any usage by me if WiFi is on. Without WiFi, it looks almost flat over 24 hours if I don’t use the phone, while with WiFi ON, its a steady drain from 100 - 0 over 24 hours. This is UNACCEPTABLE, Apple!!!!! iOS 12 was a perfect update, how can 13 be this bad still after months and countless updates??!?!?? FIX IT

I have an iPhone 7 and have massive battery drain and running hot phone since the 13.2 update. Even my new phone is doing the same thing. It’s pathetic that apple hasn’t fixed this issue and is allowing it to continue to fester. I’ve tried every suggestion to no avail. In a matter of 5 minutes I watched my battery go from 100% to 73%. Just pathetic Apple!!!

I am guessing this is being done in order to force people to buy the new IPHONE 11 or IPHONE 11 PRO. This is sad. My friend had this issue with iPhone XS MAX and sold his iphone and his itunes account and went to SAMSUNG NOTE 10. I want the 6s plus for now but it seems these updates will screw up old iphones and magically the solution will be to buy new iPhone models? I am in store now looking at new note 10 even though i love apple

No it’s not like that at all. As I said Above, identical problem with my SE (iPhone 6s internals) and my brand new iPhone 11 Pro. Apple doesn’t engage in that stuff - iPhone are still the longest lasting and BY FAR the longest-supported by updates of any device. This issue is the software and needs to be fixed. iOS 12 didn’t do this to devices old or new. Apple doesn’t and has never sabotaged older devices to force upgrades. This issue, if anything, is more pronounced in my brand new 11 pro. Please figure this out and fix it Apple!
