Apple TV 4K screensaver keeps switching back to aerial

Same issues with brand new Apple TV this needs to be fixed. Should be an easy fix in the next update.

This must be a bug.

Have any of you guys filed a bug fix request with Apple?

Even after the latest tvOS 13.3.1 update, screen saver still reverts to Aerial or goes to black screen, the latter is a new issue for me.

It’s been an issue for some users. Hopefully the next software update fixes it.

New update fixed it for me. For now. Have restarted a few times and it stays on pictures.

A custom screensaver (one of my own photo albums) is one of the nicest features of Apple TV. I've used this feature for years but the updated TVOS 13 insists on reverting to the stock photos in Aerial. Is there anything I can do to keep my custom settings?

Same issue here on tvOS 13.2 (17K82).

Worked fine on previous versions.

Would love a resolution for this one as I really enjoy seeing my personal photos on my TV, really getting bored with the aerial screensaver - never wanted it, never asked for it.

Being able to run a screen saver fed by photos from my phone is literally the only reason I still have an Apple TV otherwise I would just be done with this product. Can you at least fix this one trivial issue? I’m sure it’s a simple fix... stick an intern on it.

Same issue here. Whenever I do a restart of my Apple TV then it reverts to aerial. So I have to start up my iMac in order to set it to my photos which I enjoy on my tv. And the bad part is that we are not able to raise this as abut so we have to rely on Apple Support reading this thread or if we raise the issue on some other SOME.

Same issue here since 13.0 I believe. Still an issue on 13.3. My wife’s like “put it back, that’s the whole reason we got rid of the media center”, I’m like “I know” We never should have left Microsoft.

Same issue here -- although I am getting "black" squares -- which seem to be the size of the photos in my Photos that I use for screensaver -- but, they are simply black boxes...........they even pop up like they would..........just black. Very frustrating.

I have always believed Apple to be the epitome of design thinking. Their purpose, to make great uncomplicated products.

I have the same problem.

The amount of posts are not what i find frustrating about this simple and uncomplicated problem. It’s the amount of time it has taken the company, who has always understood my needs before I actually needed, has forgotten to eliminate all of the unimportant opportunities.

Apple has the best product, the highest quality and the most useful software. Please, stop presenting it in a slipshod manner.

This is very frustrating. I get it that Apple probably wants TVOS to default to their aerial screensaver because they spent money filming it and want to promote their brand... but they should listen to customers and fix this irritating problem. I have two AppleTVs and their primary purpose is to play music and display my own images. As a serious landscape photographer, I can't display all my favorite images on limited wall space at home... but AppleTV does a great job! However, I should not have to keep switching back to my gallery.

I reported this issue to feedback/appletv.html months ago. Not sure they read that either. I use my panoramas from "My Photos" with the Ken Burns transition. They fill the screen as scroll by. Very dynamic. Thank you Apple but why does the screensaver keep switching back to the dreaded Aerial?

That would be great! Was that in the update notes, or based on it not happening again (yet)? Was never sure, but it seemed like restarting didn't trigger it, maybe just when updates were pushed. If the latter, then getting an update without having the screen saver reset would be a great sign.

If it is fixed, I think it's thanks to everyone here who kept using the support link and reporting it there!
